The hostel is right next to train stations, which is super convenient. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned every day. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. Would definitely stay here again!

My stay at The Green Man was unfortunately very disappointing. I originally booked a six-night stay but decided to leave after the first night because the rooms were not as advertised. I had reserved a three-bed all-female room. On the website, the “shared” or “communal” bathroom appeared to be located inside the room, so I understood that it would be shared among the three guests. However, in reality, there are two bathrooms to be shared with all occupants. I will say in the full description they do state that the bathrooms are outside of the room though I believe the photos are misleading. The room itself was smaller than expected, the lockers did not lock and were small, and there was visible mold in the bathroom. The bathroom facilities were particularly poor. The hand soap dispenser was broken, and because it jutted out awkwardly, it took up the only possible space for placing toiletries. There were no shelves to aid in that matter either. The bathroom provides two hooks. Which doesn’t provide much option for your wet and dry clothes, towels, & toiletries. The bathroom also had a persistent damp, mildewy smell that travelled throughout the floor. While the hot water and water pressure were decent, the door to the bathroom directly across from my room was jammed and wouldn’t lock, leading to constant slamming. I was woken up around 6 a.m. by repeated door slams from guests trying to close it. Additionally, there was no heat in the room or in the entire facility for that matter, which made the November stay uncomfortable. The hosts seemed ok. I was genuinely excited to try this experience based on reviews describing The Green Man as one of the better hostel options. If that’s the case, I’ve learned that hostels like this simply aren’t for me

Having decided to challenge myself and find the cheapest way to stay in London I was so very happy to find this hostel. No age restriction - some are. Easy walking distance from London Paddington station … situated right next to Edgeware Road tube station… I walked into a typical British pub. Delightful. Most of the reviews I had read while coming up on the train did not holds a up at all … what are people’s expecting ? The only two reviews which did hold up were the positive ones. The staff, on duty whole stayed there were dightful : Zak, Abdul (Salim), Lorie and his name has gone out of my head was on the same shift as Lorie and recommended the ‘Juicy Bastard ‘ burger which was the best burger I have ever had - I pimped it with bacon & mayo. Zak wax the day manager who spotted the mistake I had made when booking ( I had booked two beds for 2 night) and was upgraded from mixed dormitory … the cheapest .. to an All women dormitory. Crisply ironed bedding. Bring your own towel - I hadn’t because I was trying to travel light but was able to buy a very white cotton shower towel (£7) I had brought my ear plugs but would have bed. Fine without. A good sized room with triple bunks and lockers ( bring your own lock). I managed to secure a bottom bunk. Facilities : no en suite - this is a hostel not a hotel remember. The facilities were clean and sufficient room. Since I wake early I was first to use the shower so the floor was dry. I always tend to dry off in the shower cubicle, which was roomy compared to mine at home, before stepping out - not everyone does that so go later and the floor will be wet. That’s the habit of others not a reflection of the hostel staff. I went downstairs into pub for my first cuppa of the day ( the bar is banned all night). There I met the night shift young man, Abdul, who was delightful. We had a lovely conversation and I also met another guest, Nawaz - a cricket coach ftom Bangalore -the three of us were like a mini United Nations. I had two very good nights sleep there, ate well and felt safe and comfortable and felt very welcome. It is walking distance - if you like walking - to most places…. The British Museum, The Wellcome Colmection, Covent Garden, Piccadilly, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Marble Arch, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Kensington and the museums, Roysl Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, Fortnum & Mason. I will most certainly stay there again.

Great Location. Nice enough pub to hang out at. Hostel Rooms are as expected for the price you pay. Bathrooms/shower rooms are awful regardless of what you pay. All beds have two charging ports each and the room has a distinct "hostel" smell to it, windows can barely be cracked. Our private tripleroom was advertised as a room with private toilet (even had a picture of it) bit we had to share this with others. Could store bags before and after stay. 24h open pub for hostel guests. Not noisy tho. Fair considering it was the cheapest I could find for three guys, wouldn't stay there again tho.

I was hesitant when I read some of the dodgy reviews for this hostel - but ended up really enjoying my stay. For a single female traveller, I felt very safe in the 12 bed mixed dorm. And while it's not the Hilton - it's a very comfortable hostel. My bed and bedding was very clean and fresh, the rooms were tidy and have a space to lock your items away if you bring or buy a padlock. Despite being above a lively pub, it was a very quiet sleep. The blokes in the pub downstairs were friendly and helpful. The showers are excellent- they are large rainmakers that you don't need to push a button to keep them turned on or anything - you can enjoy a good shower after a long travel. Its a very easy walk from Paddington station too. Aside from a tiny bit of mold on the roof of the toilet room, everything else was much better than expected. So thank you to the team for a good stay - and for anyone looking for a very affordable easy spot with a good beer and a vibe, this is it.

Good evening (already) , Please forwarding this case for Your manager. What’s the reason for this? Please for another competent assistant in this case. The pub started breaking and destroying my stuff. Their logistics are not proper, there is lack of logistics in Their policy if changing the rooms. The hostel is full of alcohol, the reception is composed together with pub, what is not allowed. There is beer everywhere, not healthy t sure, not appropriate for People with problems with alcohol. I urge You directly to forward this case to The department’s supervisor. The lack of knowledge and lack of competences of stuff if hostel / pub followed to the intervention of Police. The stuff started destroying my things. Please again for reimbursement proper solution of this case. Moreover , there live illegal People hidden in the pub, They working in United Kingdom (UK) illegally and both of Them - accommodation and the guests are breaking the law. Therefore, please so much? ,, All the Beast’s Best. Adam , The ADAM; The Polish President 2030. With respect. For sure. We thank You so much in advance. You are welcome. Best regards, Adam. See You. ‘’

Had a Burger and a Pint with my Dad and Brother. A lot different than I remember from the early 2000's. *Update: To the Pub Love team, I recall the old patrons and decor being an 80's throwback. It is a lot more clean and reserved. So yes a marked improvement.

Do not stay in this place, it is not safe, you can stay on the street just like I did. I had a reservation, I arrived early at the hostel, I left the bags, because the check-in time is from 2 pm. I get back to the hostel around 6pm, tired after wandering around London, and the lady who claims to be a supervisor says that my reservation had been cancelled. They left me helpless on the street. She simply canceled my reservation for more expensive rent. She was super unfriendly from the beginning, my recommendation, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. MY SITUATION WAS FRUSTING. I just wish this lady had a lot of karma in her life, because that doesn't work. I work in a hotel and I know how things work. I never heard before that they canceled our reservation on the day of our stay, without even mentioning why.

Worst experience in my life at a hostel. I always sleep in hotels and I like it, but this one was horrible. weird people around, smelly, a lot of noise of exterior and interior. Below me I had 2 guys sharing bed and making noises… you know what I mean. people coming in and out of the room the whole night. playing videos on speaker. window open because of smell and a lot of noise of the cars and traffic. The beds are very bad quality, if someone moves a little the whole structure moves and wakes you up. I didn’t feel safe and left very early in the morning because I couldn’t sleep and I was freaking out. I didn’t trust to take a shower there neither going to the toilet… I asked via messaging for a room change, I was afraid of telling in person because of the 2 guys below me. A room change wouldn’t be better, all the guest looked to have the same behavior, selfish smelly and not friendly. if you see google maps reviews you will see there has been a lot of robberies there and the hostel does not take responsibilities and does not help you at all so I had to be very careful with all my bags. luggage storage is open for everyone on the night so they don’t check if you are taking someone else’s bag… please avoid coming here. Is better to sleep in the street or the park.

Choice of lager was a bit generic but loads of interesting unusual beers and pale ales. Quirky, eclectic pub. Burgers looked amazing but I did partake in this visit - if I'm in the area closer to lunch I definitely will next time.
