Rooms were not very clean. Whole place felt a bit ropey. Outside area was also a bit ropey. Wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately. Staff were ok, but wanted cash for everything. Had to pay a deposit up front, even though they refunded it with out even checking the room after. I thought this was very odd. Car parking was a nightmare to find and was chargeable, we were told £19 but it actually £10 which was a nice surprise but still made me uncomfortable with the staff not really knowing what to do. The payment for parking was also sent to a different account than what the actual hotel was.

A nice little hotel right next to the train station. It was perfect for me and my friends for one night. People at the front desk were friendly and the beds were comfy.

I have no idea how this rates as '3-star hotel' on Google. It's the worst hotel I've stayed in. First off, the receptionist insisted on taking a photocopy of my driving licence because it was 'hotel policy.' I'm a British citizen. I don't mind showing id, but then why do they need to keep it? I have no idea what they intend to do with that information. Next: no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. In 2025! The beds are iron bedsteads and rickety, like something from an Army Barracks in the 1950s. The bathroom is small, and the window didn't open. The extractor fan switches off with the light switch rather than running for five minutes afterwards. That meant the bathroom smelt and felt damp, oosing into the bedroom. The shower did work, and was the only redeeming factor about the whole place. Don't expect a comfortable stay: suitable for budget use only.

The showers don’t work properly (covered in limescale), they flood up the room, the rooms are pretty decent for a 3-star hotel but was expecting a bit more with a proper cupboard instead of a wooden box with a hangar above the bedside, although I do appreciate the area near the shops. With the service, nobody was there and we had to wait 10 minutes for a staff member to attend. Overall, there are loads of better hotels near this place but there could also be worse.

Horrible place to stay. Bed was broken. Bathroom has cracked tiles which you can easily trip on. Sink is not even attached to the wall. Shower door is broken and doesn't close. No hot water. The common kitchen is a mess. Will not stay here again. The only good thing was, it is very near the train station.

Super budget friendly place with a great location. Everything is very central and at your fingertips, and it's easy to get around. The reception staff is friendly, though they could be more accomodating and informative towards their guests, especially foreigners that are new to certain policies (like documenting ID) - their booking page specification needs to be updated. There is 24/7 reception and a cozy communal kitchen with a little balcony for smoking. The rooms are what to be expected for the price- the bed is comfortable, theres tv, there's privare bathrooms- ours was a bit chilly because the window vent was open to the outdoors. All in all really good for minimalistic tastes like my own, when youll be spending time outdoors more than at the hotel.

What a place. My mum stayed here. Some good staff and dreadful staff. No lift at all. My mums bags had to be hoisted up to the top. Its on the high street.

Such a unhygienic place to stay. The stay was literally terrible. I don’t how the UK’s health and safety didn’t notice this place. The room was stinking very baldly, bedsheets were really dirty and stinking. We felt really disgusted. The next day after staying here my whole body was itching. The management will not even consider your request. The hotel is trash neither they have warm water and couldn’t even get a warm drinking water , we were supposed to drink water from bathroom or had to purchase it . No toiletries available. Not even worth for a pound a paid.

Such place cannot be called a hotel!!! It's completely unhygienic, a disaster. We're still wondering how England doesn't have a health authority that can close this place down. Unfortunately, we paid for two nights, we could stay bearable for one night. The room was full with mould, bed sheets were dirty, and there was a very bad smell in the room. Even though we ventilated the room leaving windows and door open (in November), it didn't help at all. We had to wear masks all the time. The bathroom was full with mould too. The sink was leaking and the shower wasn’t separated from the toilet. When we reported all this, they informed us there were no more available rooms for that night. Early in the morning next day, they offered us a "clean" room indicating guests paid for it quite more money that we did for ours (170 pounds). How could they imagine we were going to stay there, with such unhygienic unbearable conditions?. We didn't want to see the "clean" room. Off course they stole the money of the second night. No refund policy. We didn't book through booking. That's why we cannot comment there. We hope this review prevents any one to stay there. By the way, the receptionists were kind but couldn’t help us with our reimbursement request. Why do they work for such place? It was impossible to reach the hotel’s manager.

Cannot be described as a hotel. When we arrived we had to step over a drunk woman asleep at the bottom of the stairs. We went up the stairs to the 'reception' , basically a wooden cupboard thing. Whilst we were checking in the drunk woman woke up shouting, asking to use a toilet. She was ignored and ended up squatting to pee about 10 pints worth on the carpet. Given the tiniest key on the smallest key ring and shown to our room. The TV has no antenna and only works through signing into apps. The air con blew warm air. The heating was unbelievably hot. We were woken up by guests in the corridor, banging doors, the noise from the gangs in the street smashing glass and shouting. Fire alarm going off during the night. No kettle in the room. Plastic mattresses with no fitted sheet so you're sliding all over the place. Pillows were either bags of lumps or breeze blocks. 2 towels between three people. No toiletries. I slept fully clothed to feel safe, as soon as we woke at 6am we were out of there but handing the key in meant waking the receptionist who was asleep on the floor of the 'reception'. Paid £130 for this experience
