I know it says Budget but this is so basic that you get a bed, a plastic stool in front of a dressing table with no mirror and that's it! The poor girl on reception was trying to sort everything - people checking in, checking out, buying drinks, ordering AND cooking food, she was being run ragged. Subsequently we waited over an hour for 5 bowls of soup (which I have to admit was tasty), chased for the bread roll which should have come with it only to be given toast when we'd finished the soup! We then waited a further 30 minutes for our main courses, 2xpizza and crisps, 4x curry, rice and naan. We again had to chase for the crisps and then everyone's naan was like a brick and inedible!! To be fair the food we ate was warm and tasted fine. Service was disjointed, nothing arrived together. But hey, you live and learn. Never again will we eat or stay in a budget hotel, it was dreadful.

The hotel was value for money. Good water pressure, room spacey enough for my needs. Receptionists were very helpful. Thank you to Mehwish, Ana and Jassia.

The staff was very appropriate and kind while the place couldn't get any cleaner! The rooms are unfortunately very small and not well equipped for a longer stay but they're very clean and comfortable. The location is unfortunate as there's a busy road next to the place and not many convenience stores around but the metro is only for a 15 minute walk. The area is pretty "diverse", interpret that however you want.

I had an absolutely exceptional experience thanks to Mohamed jassir. From the first moment, he showed a professional, friendly attitude and was always willing to help. Their attention to detail and speed in resolving any queries made my stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, their warm and genuine treatment made me feel truly welcome and valued as a guest. Without a doubt, Mohamed is a great asset to the hotel and a perfect example of customer service. Thank you so much!

I recently stayed at Ibis Budget Hotel Barking for two and a half weeks, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Staff & Service: The service was consistently poor throughout my stay. One particular staff member, Ana, stood out for all the wrong reasons. Her attitude was unwelcoming, rude, and dismissive. She often avoided answering simple questions and made it clear she didn’t want to help. Customer service should be a priority in hospitality, but that was clearly not the case here. Room Conditions: The rooms were not properly cleaned. Only when I explicitly requested room service would any cleaning be done. I had to change rooms twice — once due to faulty sockets (I couldn’t even charge my phone), and the second time due to excessive noise from other guests. Despite multiple complaints about the noise, the staff refused to take any action or move me to a quieter room. The soundproofing is practically non-existent; traffic from the nearby motorway and constant banging noises from upstairs made it very difficult to sleep. Cleanliness & Atmosphere: Cleanliness is below basic standards, and honestly, the rooms have a strange, uncomfortable feeling to them. There was a sense of an eerie presence — not something you’d expect to feel while trying to relax during a hotel stay. Breakfast: For a stay that cost me nearly £1,000, there was no complimentary breakfast included which is shocking. The hotel charges £8.50 for a basic selection of pastries and cereal, which is simply not worth it. I ended up eating at Tesco nearby, where the Costa provided much better value and quality. Overall: This stay was extremely disappointing and not worth the money. I expected basic comfort and service from a hotel under the Ibis brand, but received neither. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful or pleasant stay.

From what I gathered from the interior and appearance, it was rather unique amongst budget hotels, which was it had a reception with a pantry area that offered hot drinks and a microwave which was a welcoming apparatus as food can be heated up and consumed in your room or in the setting place. It has an outside setting area as well, which I found to be a novelty. All-in-all, a unique budget hotel with nice amenities.

Clean and affordable but the best thing about this place is the hospitality. Mehwish was sweet, accommodating and just a top notch employee. Would absolutely stay again simply based on her hospitality. 5 stars!

For a budget - it was lacking We’ve stayed in Ibis budget and non-budget hotels before, and ultimately a lot of the experience could’ve been just so much better with a little more care, funding, and better customer service. This visit was just not reminiscent of other visits to other Ibis budget hotels. There was a lack of coffee / tea making facilities within the rooms, despite having more than enough space for this. What made this worse is that over the course of 4 days, the coffee machine in the building was out of order for the entirety of the stay. I’ve stayed in hotels without this before, but for the reasons of a genuine lack of space - this just seems like a rather cheap penny saving scheme by Ibis despite the fact that ‘kettles are available on request’… just have them in the room by default, that way if guests have to go 4 mornings without this, they can do so in the comfort of their rooms. The beds in the rooms were comfy though, so no complaints there. Just a shame that no extra pillows were stocked / kept at reception for individuals that prefer two, especially considering there are no headboards in the rooms. Air conditioning was a great extra - worked brilliantly throughout the stay. Power sockets are extremely limited (two underneath the TV) with none being at the bedside for charging phones. Again, it’s 2022 - people have devices, please consider adding more near the bed. Bathroom was very nice, kept very clean by the cleaners, although loo roll was not replenished at all at any point. Just a very unfortunate lack of not-so-luxury necessities which really don’t justify this being a ‘budget’ hotel - just comes across as being stingy. End of the day, you’re in London - paying London rates, the premier Inn next door charges a surprisingly similar rate for most nights, and at least with them you’d get consistency.

As a budget hotel, you get what you expect, but the staff here were Fantastic! Stayed for 3 weeks Monday to Friday for 4 of us due to work. Rarely made breakfast but more than adequate for a budget hotel! The rooms were comfy and I slept very well! They provide a snack and bar service at reception and also allow u to eat takeaways in the seating reception area and provide a microwave for guests to use which finishing work at 4am is fantastic! Unfortunately our last weeks booking was changed to the Ibis 2 buildings away and had a terrible stay! Myself and colleagues would have rather stayed here! Thanks again for a great stay and your politeness, Ibis budget barking 10 times better customer care than the other Ibis!
