⭐ 1-Star Review I stayed at Cranbrook Hotel from 10th October 2025 to 17th October 2025, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures on Booking.com. I checked in during the evening, but the very next morning I found a centipede (kankajoora) in the bathroom. There was mold on the walls, and the cupboard and doors were damp and damaged. Although the room was spacious, it often had large flies coming in, which was quite uncomfortable — especially since I was staying with my 2.5-year-old daughter, who got scared. Another shocking thing was that the hotel only changes bedsheets once a week, which is very unhygienic. On a positive note, the room service staff was polite and helpful. However, I gave a £100 deposit at check-in, and even though the staff claims it has been refunded, I haven’t received it yet, nor have they provided any proof or transaction record. I usually don’t write such reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my honest experience, especially since I still haven’t received my deposit refund.

We booked a room at this hotel in September 2025. When we arrived, the receptionist charged a £100 deposit to our credit card, saying it would be refunded 7 days after check-out. This is a lie. I sent several emails and received no response. It has now been 40 days. To me, this manager is dishonest.

The staff was helpful. But the first room we were offered was terrible. Funny smell, the shower was broken, it had blockage so couldn’t have a shower on the first night after a long flight. It was extremely noisy and you could hear every single word the person next door or on the street was saying. Of course they refused to give us refund, instead provided us with another room the next day which was way better. They kept room clean every day and that was really nice of them. Still, it’s in a noisy area and felt a bit unsafe, so you wouldn’t like it if you are sensitive to noise and travelling with children or on your own. The worst part is that they charge you £100 deposit as you check in. And on the day I checked out, I was explained that the money would be transferred 3 weeks after check out date if you were non-UK resident. 3 weeks later, I haven’t got it back yet and I’m not really happy about it. Booked through Agoda, the hotel is very very VERY slow in reply, or they never get back to you. I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend anyone.

We reserved 2 rooms and spent 2 nights over the weekend. The cost was fair, and the staff were very accommodating. They took care of the parking situation in the middle of the night. The 2 rooms were situated close together as we had requested during the booking. Additionally, the hotel's location provides easy access to the train station for commuting to London, which is great. I would definitely recommend it.

he rooms are terrible. We booked multiple rooms and every single one of them was bad. Completely unacceptable. They’ve crammed three beds into a tiny space, just like a chicken coop. No light comes into the room, and there’s only a small window that doesn’t provide enough ventilation. The smell is unbearable because there was no trap in the sink to stop odors. No air conditioning, only a small broken fan, and the most disgusting carpeted floor. The staff were friendly and polite, but unfortunately they couldn’t offer us a better room. I recommend you save your money and go somewhere else.

I will avoid this hotel in the future. Staff is not friendly, almost they are not happy to see they have a customer. The furniture in the room almost fall apart. Mould in the bathroom, shower not working properly. Is nothing like in the pictures. This places should be fined for false publicity and customers should receive at least a partial refound for not getting what they are paying for. Not going there anymore and i would advice everyone to avoid this Hotel

Needs renovating. Too old and dirty, poles missing on the stairs which is a massive health and safety hazard. Used tape to tie the carpet down. Everything seems far too bob and cutting corners. Staff were ok but the building needs work.

Poor Service This hotel is really poor with bed bugs and even the mf security guards accept it and still can’t help. They had said that several rooms had this issue and cannot swap rooms. From pillow covers to the carpet , bed bugs are everywhere. The staff were really rude . This place is very dusty and filthy and needs to be cleaned and they can’t afford a robotic vacuum that they use a normal vacuum and don’t even clean the carpet properly which makes it more unhygienic. Please bring the exterminators and pest control.

This hotel is in Ilford, even though a 2star rating, the room was exceptional, clean and big, I had to have an extended stay at the hotel and had no problem with extending my stay. The added advantage of this hotel is that you have parking facilities, with parking available at the front and in the onsite car park. The reception staff were all very friendly and polite.... I personally say that when people come and argue with them for no reason, they can only do so much yet people expect miracles. B'fast is included in the price, but for me personally it was too early, so didn't have any there, the house cleaning is done on a daily basis, with bed linen changed at least twice a week. There are several shops and a pub short walking distance away, The reception is available 24/7 and there is no restrictions as to what time you have to come and go. Overall had a pleasant stay for the duration.
