I have been staying at this hotel consistantly for a while as i work away from home and have been having dinner at the Cast Iron Grill where the food is enjoyable but what really makes my experience feel like home is Ioana when i feel home sick. She has gone above and beyond to cater for my nightly dinners and made sure whether its my glass of water or pint of beer, it never goes empty. She mixes proffesionalism with friendliness so well that most of the time it feels like i am just talking to a friend until she walks away and is back in a flash with my cookie dough or sticky toffee pudding! Her confidence and energy immidietly stood out and she handled every busy dinner period effortlessly, making it look second nature to be under pressure. In fairness the food is pretty good but i keep coming back because Ioana really is the secret ingredient to the recipe! Would hire her in a heartbeat!!!

During my stay at the hotel, I had the pleasure of being served several times by Ioana at the restaurant — and she was absolutely outstanding. Not only is she professional, kind, and always attentive to every detail, but she also speaks Spanish, which made communication much easier for me. She took the time to recommend the best dishes from the menu based on my tastes, and she was spot on every time. Ioana made every dinner feel special. Thank you for the top-notch service!

Me and my husband stayed here, in a bridal suite. The day of our wedding, they messed up our bookings so my husband spent most of the afternoon dealing with rude staff who had no idea what they where doing, which delayed the process of him getting ready and being able to enjoy his day! Our bridal suite was mouldy. Mould up the curtains and the walls. The balcony was filfy, covered in cob webs and looked like it had never been cleaned. We didn't once get a complimentary drink for our stay as husband and wife. The only drink we got was a carton of water in the fridge. Our cleaner, last minute, put petals on our bed because no one else had even bothered to make the effort. The night before my wedding, my mum and sister joined me. We decided to eat at the restaurant. It was very over priced for what you got, food was basic, very bland and the waitress got the ump with us because we wanted to eat outside on a hot day. In all, my experience of this place was very disappointing. Very poorly managed, lack of communication, no consideration for guests and no pleasant manner about this place atall. Not recommended!!! I will be writing a huge letter of complaint and know never to use this place again.

Stayed here for two nights with a colleague while working in the area. There was quite a queue at check-in but check-out was quick. My room was enormous, with two double beds and a sofa. It was also clean, quiet, comfortable, and the shower was good. We ate in the Cast Iron restaurant on the first night and it was very average and over-priced (plus 12.5% service). I chose the grilled pork chop in the hope that it may have been fresh fairly recently but it was as dry as a biscuit. My squid starter was clearly straight from a packet to the deep fat fryer. My colleague was equally unimpressed. The breakfast here was decent, but expensive unless it’s included in your corporate rate. Thankfully the centre of Waltham Abbey isn’t far away (a 1.5 mile walk or quick Uber ride). Better places to eat and drink there, and that’s my recommendation. Many thanks to the lovely lady on Reception who went out of her way to help us with pub and restaurant suggestions. The hotel bar is great for a nightcap and the staff were friendly and efficient. So a fairly mixed review but I do think that this is the best hotel in the area.

Think they're saving on the electric bill, room was freezing. There was a heater left in the room, although it wasn't plugged in to take the chill off. There was a summer weight duvet on the bed, and no spare blankets and when my husband rang to ask for some, nobody answered the phone. He went to reception and they apologized and told him they would send someone along. The receptionist arrived with a colleague both carrying duvets and another heater. The duvets were dropped onto the bed! (Not in a rude way, but it wasn't great service to just leave them like that). The folks at the restaurant and the bar were friendly and helpful, also the young man in the spa reception. The area was kept clean by a girl who took pride in her work, so diligent was she, even though there were only four people using the spa. The pools, steam room and sauna all worked and it was so relaxing to pretty much have them to ourselves. The changing rooms were cold, and the showers were barely warm which was a shame after the great sauna. Overall a decent stay, but the heating should be on when you're in business hosting guests, also might stop the damp musty smell in the corridors, and for safety the fire doors should be closed, and the carpet shouldn't be a trip hazard at those doors.

This hotel truly provided a luxurious experience! The room was outfitted with a bed and bed linen of a very comfortable quality. The food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. All the staff were friendly, polite and willing to help with any request. The process of booking in and out was effortless. Room service was speedy and the staff were warm and friendly. The bar and restaurant staff gave a genuine welcome and provided excellent service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious stay.

Went for a meeting. Reception and the foyer were busy with people and a bit noisy. Staff seemed short in number and under pressure. It took a long time to be served, and a while before our coffees arrived. Staff have charisma and seem pleasant. I can't comment on the rooms. If you don't register your car you'll get a parking ticket! Easy enough location to find.

Lovely place and excellent rooms. However, breakfast has a great selection but too cold. Staff were very helpful. Need to upgrade on bathrooms and hot breakfast. Thank you for all your kindness.

Excellent venue. We received a warm welcome on arrival, something most hotels somehow forget to manage, and were so impressed with the room, facilities and staff. The food in the restaurant was very good vegan burger was excellent. The spa , pool and gym also very good. Had a wonderful walk in Epping forest just ten minutes walk away.
