Second time staying overnight, same room. Beds are very comfortable, but as the room was very warm had to take the duvet out of the cover and used that and the thin blanket to sleep under. The shower room was ok, but the sink is on a bit of a slope so bottles toothbrush/ paste keep falling into the basin, a shelf might be a good idea. When we came up from dinner, we noticed a loud humming noise which, we eventually worked out that it was coming from the kitchen extractor fan, that was not switched off until about midnight, blissful quiet ensued !! The food and service are very good, if a bit expensive.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of August 2025. We were at a family get -together for the weekend which was being held at our son’s family house close by. We booked 7 bedrooms and our group were extremely satisfied. The staff were very determined to be pleasant and extremely helpful. We would certainly look forward to coming again. Thank you. Gordon.

It's pleasant, rooms are adequate but not exceptional, menu is lacking and quality of food was ok but definitely not special. Lack of appropriate quantity of staff was more than apparent. Tried to contact establishment by phone on numerous occasions without any success.

Sadly I was not very impressed especially when I read previous reviews all stating the same issue with cleanliness you would have thought management would have realised they had a major issue that needed to be dealt with! After realising just how dirty the room was I asked for it to be cleaned while I was out. Yes upon my return the areas I had pointed out had been cleaned but they had not really checked the room out and it was still very dirty in places. The next morning the extra price breakfast was well presented large portion size but the food was over cooked probably reheated. I expected the manager to approach and ask how my stay had been but no so at check out I explained I was not happy and took the manager up to the room to point out all the issues. Some explanation about agency cleaners but clearly there had been an on going problem of which they were not dealing with. The same room was actually mentioned in previous reviews but issues had not been put right. £149.00 for room and £15.50 breakfast certainly over priced!

Stayed overnight and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was lovely - comfortable king size bed and large en-suite bathroom. Quiet location with views over fields and great outdoor seating terrace.

Always enjoy the food here and the service is great. The manager is always helpful and willing to assist with anything. The only thing we found this time was that the menu has been reduced, especially the puddings. More choice of puddings please.

Food is always very good. Service can get a bit slow, but mostly because it's usually very busy. However, that doesn't affect the atmosphere negatively as the tables are sufficiently spaced out. This has become our lunch venue of choice to take clients or for work celebratory lunches. Haven't stayed there though.

We came here last night for dinner and was quite disappointed with the change in menu, not a huge amount of choice in comparison to the previous menu. Despite what it says on the online menu, the steak and ale suet pudding has gone which I can’t understand. The food we had was delicious though. The service was great and an overall friendly environment. Just please bring back the steak and ale suet pudding!

I was excited about visiting as it looks lovely from the road. The menu appeals if you like a chunky pie or fish and chips. Personally, I would have loved a fresh fish alternative. Staff were very young but were not engaged with customers. Not cheap.

We had dinner after an exhausting trip to London. The food was fantastic, the service was fast and great. My little 3 year old was catered for with the kids menu, however the portion size was a bit much, so if you have a young child under 5, might be worth asking for a smaller portion size.
