I have mixed feelings about this hotel! Pros: The shower is great - hot and good pressure. The bed was comfortable. There’s lots of parking. The room was a good size and WiFi is good. Bar area and cafe food - decent price and really nice staff. Cons: £50/ night deposit held by hotel - up to 28 days before you get it back if you pay by Monzo. This is insanely high. Most hotels immediately release the holding payment on checkout. So for 4x nights - £200 held. They reluctantly reduced it to £100 but the receptionist was incredibly moody about it - and had a really poor attitude - which wasn’t great. This is a lot of money to withhold especially just before Christmas. The spa/pool is not included - 10/hr even for guests. Feels odd especially for midweek.

I was solo travelling and arrived quite early and the person at the front desk was quite rude and told me I’d have to wait until three to get checked in, but I could go to another area and wait. Staff seemed quite young and inexperienced. I was able to get set up in the café onsite and the café staff are wonderful - they let me stay there for three hours and use a table to work without issue. Had a good meal as well with a nice cup of tea. When I went to check in, instead of doing it themselves they asked me to scan a QR code which let me know I could’ve checked in up to three hours early if I was willing to pay for it, but that wasn’t even offered earlier. I was able to get my room set up and ventured over there. The room was extremely dated and like others have mentioned the carpets were stained and the room, despite being a good size, felt very small due to the slanted roof. I prefer total darkness at night to sleep, and the light coming under the door from the hallway seemed quite bright, and on top of that the slanted roof has a window that has light filtering shades over it not black out blinds so the lamppost just outside my window shone brightly all night. On top of this, there was noise outside until after 10 PM. Not just people talking and having fun noise, but construction noises, like they were building structures right outside my window. All in all, it wasn’t a great stay, but it was safe and it was nearby my work location. Although for advertising as “the best”, don’t set the bar too high if you do stay here and you may not be disappointed.

Room was lovely. Would benefit from having smart TVs installed so guests could mirror cast onto them. I ended up watching bits on my tablet. Telephone in the room didn't work so had to phone from my mobile when ordering room service. £5 charge for room service which I thought wasn't bad. Breakfast choice was great and of good quality. This is a wedding venue so expect some noise from other guests during the week Ideal location for my work trip

This place didn't feel welcoming, relaxing, clean or "simply the best". Dirty/stained carpets and walls. Worn, torn or dirty furniture throughout. Inexperienced or disinterested staff for the most part. We booked in August but not warned to book early for spa treatments - then told it was fully booked for all pur stay. We saw very few people in the spa area for the 2 hours we were in there despite being told it was very busy, it makes me believe they just did not have the staff. I asked for a callback from the manager to discuss the booking and had to repeatedly call THEM back. We made a taxi request on arrival, then were called by Reception to say no taxis would take us to Bluewater (20mins drive across the Dartford Bridge) but booked one easily when we called them direct.. Upon departure, rather than ask us how our stay had been or make polite conversation, the Reception staff stuck a card reader in our face for a late departure fee. Then continued to chat with another receptionist staff member who had completely ignored us. For a place that states they are "simply the best," it fell obscenely short. We were left with a sinking feeling from arrival and even became desensitised to the disappointments, as those above were but a few of a long list. It appears customer service and hospitality have been entirely overlooked.

A lovely place for a business meeting. The staff were amiable and helpful but signposting could be clearer and consistent. The room was cold but we had access to the air conditioning / heating but it was inconsistent across the room. Car parking was adequate. Looks like a great place for a venue and it certainly looks good. Recommended.

We visited here for Afternoon Tea with Father Christmas. We were a large group of 10 (adults and children). The venue was beautifully decorated for the festive season. Food was delicious and offered alternatives for the vegetarians in our group. Joe Banana was the entertainer for the afternoon and he did not disappoint. The Father Christmas was very good. Plenty of activities for the children to keep them occupied. Would definitely return.

Beautiful place. The room we had was gorgeous. The food in the bar was fab. We were cutting it fine for breakfast as only had around 20 mins left. The cooked breakfast was nice, but they did take the continental away a bit quickly. Ideal place if going to Lakeside. The only thing I didn't like was that the check-in system felt impersonal even though not busy and 2 people in reception.

I spent one afternoon and night there with my partner for the b&b and spa package. The hotel and room are amazing and the location really wonderful. The spa treatments were really high quality. We were very impressed by the dinner at the Garden Brasserie - food was excellent and well presented. Same was the breakfast. Looking forward to going back again! Very recommended.

I visited Orsett Hall for a 'Here come the girl's' spa day with afternoon tea with my sister. The site itself is beautiful and well kept. The staff are lovely and friendly and make you feel at ease. The spa facilities are great, I have slight mobility issues and usually use a walking stick for long distances but everything is within hobbling distance and there is a disabled changing room that leads right into the pool room if needed. The tables do lower for treatments if needed but this wasn't necessary. I had a body scrub, back, neck and shoulder massage and a facial. Due to my nerve pain I was unsure if I was able to have a massage but the therapist was great at checking the pressure was fine, it gave me back a bit more mobility in the arms and shoulders and I'm now hoping to book in again very soon for more! The therapists are great at creating a relaxing environment and making sure everything is suitable for you making you feel pampered and well looked after. After our treatments we headed for afternoon tea which was served quickly and full of delicious treats! Overall I was really pleased I had opted for Orsett Hall and left feeling relaxed and refreshed!
