   There was a time when Tarvin did not have its own pharmacy: instead, the doctors (themselves!) dispensed their own prescriptions to everybody. When the pharmacy arrived, we viewed it with suspicion, thinking that the service would not be as good as we had been receiving. Instead, we found that it was indeed better than the old service, coupled with the fact that there was now someone in Tarvin selling all of the other things that Chemist's shops routinely stock. Over the years, we have come to value the service we receive from Tarvin Pharmacy more and more. The staff, who are usually rushed off their feet, are none-the-less very friendly and helpful and are happy to give good advice when requested. It seems to be standard practice for them to "go the extra mile" to be helpful. It was during the pandemic that we came to appreciate what a treasure Tarvin has in its pharmacy and, for a village with so many old people (not to mention all of the children and anyone else who is or gets sick), it would be a catastrophe if the business were to close. Perhaps it would be a good idea if those of us who do appreciate their service were to actually tell them so occasionally. We are all quick to criticise, but often do not think about saying a sincere "thank you" for a service which we really do appreciate.

   I started using Ian Littler Pharmacy 4.5 years ago after having constant issues with my previous one, and everything has been completely hassle-free ever since. The team here are kind, patient, and always genuinely helpful. You can really tell how hard they work and how much they care about the people they support. They even give my dog biscuits when we pop in, which shows the lovely personal touch they bring to everything they do. It feels more like a little community hub than a pharmacy, and that’s what makes it so special. They are a truly valuable asset to the community, and I really appreciate everything they do. I couldn’t recommend them more.

   To advise, I have used Littler's pharmacy for well over a decade and in all that time I have found them to be nothing but helpful and considerate to my needs. The proprietors Sandra and Ian have gone out of their way to assist me with various issues the staff have always been polite, courteous and sympathetic. Their knowledge is second to none and they provide a service and lifeline to the villagers/customers despite the economic difficulties that such business' are currently facing. How easy is it to misjudge, complain and react without due consideration to full facts and often the practicality of the given situation. Nothing is infallible, no one perfect . Littler's pharmacy is a shining example of resilience and dedication for the benefit of village life. Something to remember and be thankful for. J M Youde

   You would have travel far to find a better Pharmacy than the one in Tarvin. The service that Ian and Sandra, and their staff, provide, not just for the village, but for the wider community, is truly exceptional. We are blest to such dedicated people serving us and caring for us. I have experienced their professionalism, their kindness and their care for the past 25 years. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. It’s a joy to visit the pharmacy where you are always welcomed with a smile. I look forward to visiting for many years to come.
