   I had an extremely unpleasant stay here and would strongly advise others to avoid. The room was shabby, poorly maintained, and did not feel clean or secure. The overall environment felt uncomfortable and unsafe, especially as a solo traveller. After trying to settle in, water began leaking through the ceiling into the room, making it completely unusable. I was moved to an alternative room in the basement, which was no better — still shabby, unpleasant, and not somewhere I felt able to sleep comfortably. The building overall felt poorly managed and not fit for purpose as accommodation. I ended up having a very disturbed night and ultimately decided to book alternative accommodation at my own expense for the second night and not go back as it was so terrible. This place bears no resemblance to a standard hotel and does not provide the basic level of comfort, cleanliness, or security you would reasonably expect. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone, particularly solo travellers.

   Refused to stay there. It was disgusting, dirty, and dingy. The staircase had no lights on the second floor and was quite dangerous. The door to the top floor opened towards you and is fairly heavy on the narrow staircase so if you have bags then it’s very tricky. The room was tiny with basically a shower toilet… like no room to actually shower. There was a minuscule TV that didn’t work and didn’t have a remote, a lamp with no lightbulb. I decided not to stay and opened the wrong door when leaving which was the shared toilet which was horrendously dirty. A huge disappointment but rather have lost my money than stay there any longer than was necessary.

   Stayed here for one night. If it was any more than a single night, i'd have checked out. The room was so small it could only fit a double bed and a sink. The bathroom was shared and so was the toilet. The room was very hot - uncomfortably so and the fan was in 3 pieces so obviously didn't work. The decor is all graffiti and it looks like a homeless hostel on the inside. The location is great, however, and useful for staying in if you're out early on the eurostar, for example.

   The only positives were the location and the fact the bedding was clean. The shower on the floor we were on was out of order and the ones on the floors above left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The room itself was barely big enough for a single occupant let alone two. Would not recommend.

   There is a character limit for reviews, so I will have to bulletpoint. Normally, we don't ever write overall negative reviews, but... we will start with the positives. •staff are friendly •amazing location in terms of travel links and location to touristy spots •The bedding itself was clean. •the room was a decent size. •price was good And now Unfortunately The Negatives •The room was quite cold even in April •There was broken glass and beer cans on our balcony area outside the window •the window frame and down the back of the radiator were CAKED in dust and dirt! •There was peeling wallpaper •The toilet door didn't lock. •The flusher button on the toilet wasn't there... •the shower on our floor didn't work and the shower On the 2nd floor wasn't in one peice meaning that I (a person with mobility issues) was expected to travel up 2 further flights of stairs if I wanted to shower.... as we wasn't told about this before hand • The shower area was the size of a shoe closet! Like you were expected to dry and dress yourself in a 20×50cm area! And I think the thing that bothered me the most was the fact there was mould in the shower... not just a small bit, it was on all 4 walls, the door frame and the ceiling... •The staff aren't very responsive via the Air B&B app.

   I know you were checking the prices and found this gem, you might be thinking of checking reviews as well, you will get what you pay for: Rooms are dirty, facilities are damaged and overall the room looks like a crime scene. Towels and bedding appear to be cleaned but they are heavily worn thus the colour looks yellowish. You can open windows to let fresh air in and there's no AC. Windows are old, single glass and you will hear the street loud and clear, in fact, sound pollution is the main problem: you can't get proper sleep because you can hear all your neighbors, the street and people using the shower/toilet in the corridor. Anyways, if you just need a place to sleep for one night - you should be fine.

   Does what it says on the package, provides a reasonably clean bed to sleep in. Hotel has an overall shabby appearance, not the cleanest I have stayed in. Next time I'll spend a few more pounds.

   Great location. For the money as a place to rest your head and shower really can't complain. The experience is entirely self serve with codes to access the room. Decent shower. Nice and quite. Would have slept well we're it not for the stifling heat. The fan in the room did little to help. But short of proper A/C, which at the price I wasn't expecting there wasn't much you could do in this heatwave.

   If it were possible to give this hotel a 3.5, I would! However, between a 3 and a 4, I've opted for the 3, as there were numerous things impacting my stay. Let me start with the good things about the stay: Wi-Fi worked well across all devices; location was fantastic for all sorts of museums, restaurants, and transport; the room had a nice, big window which was great for letting in light and fresh air; room was remarkably quiet overnight, given the location; blackout curtain allowed for sleeping in nicely; access using door codes rather than keys was tremendously convenient; staff at the Melville next door were very kind and let us leave our bags there both before check-in and after check-out. The minuses of the stay are: Toilet room left a lot to be desired, as the toilet didn't flush well and the handle on the door was broken; the separate shower/tub room was spacious but not terribly pleasant to use, as there was "pink mold" on most of the walls and a darker mold on the ceiling, plus no slip mat was included (and we were given one towel total for two people), and I actually ended up hurting my knee due to slipping when exiting the shower; very little space for taking things in and out of luggage (we were generally OK due to only having backpacks, but people with larger suitcases would likely struggle). Hotels at this price point in London are rare, and I'd say that it's honestly not a bad place to stay, especially if you need to be in the King's Cross area. With some better maintenance of the room, especially the bathroom/toilet, this could easily be a 4- or even 5-star rating.

   We stayed for one night at KX rooms and the staff and service was phenomenal. The team were super friendly and helpful and the location of the property is so handy for getting around with multiple stations close by. The rooms are big, bright and spacious and we would for sure stay again!
