Nice Hostel hidden away in Kent. Rooms are a bit small but if your looking for a place to lay your head and explore. This will suffice. Communal bathroom and showers but room has sink. Self catering so service is what you make it. Near by is a lovely park and activity centre for toboggan, tube slide, ski slopes etc.( Not much snow in England anymore). Quiet area, fairly comfortable place with dinning room, kitchen, livingroom communal. Great to book for a camp etc. Reception area all can be set up to suit your needs. Kitchen well kit out, laundry room, drying room, car parking for about 12 to 14 cars onsite parking also in the park opposite. Lovely green area

The YHA property was not maintained properly. Our group was very disappointed with the overall quality and facilities that was provided. It was shocking of us as we used YHA at different parts of the country and this so far was the worst. Carpets damp and smelly, the kitchen not well equipped not even proper glasses for drinks. The worst been the cold taps that was constantly giving us hot water. Many children had burnt their hands, even adults found it difficult. Some showers couldnβt be closed by women and had needed help. Sofa with a broken leg. David communicated well with us but looked helpless using Covid protocol as an excuse. Overall a very bad experience and not happy with the hostel at all. The hostel was not worth the money we spent on it. Hoping YHA official to look into this matter and get back to us as well.

Very bad comparing to other yha we stayed . This is the 5th yha we stayed as a group .kitchen too small for a group. 3 people can't stand in the kitchen at one time . Carpet are very old and smelly . Sofa was very old and disgusting and one sofa is broken . Downstairs rooms had lots of ant infestation. All the rooms were stuffy . No glasses were available for wine and alcohol. Normally its available in other yha site . Backyard of the hostel was disgusting. We had to do through clean. Some of the showers were broken or hard to close . We were all nurses and we travelled 400 miles to relax but accommodation was absolute nightmare. Never had any problem with other yha sites . It too expensive for such a accommodation.

I stayed here myself in November 2019 for 5 nights. A place in a clean 4-bed room was kindly provided to me! The hostel, it's location, the park nearby were excellently memorable and warm to my heart! In the hostel there are everything a tourist need - well-equipped kitchen, cozy dining room, clean bathroom and warm beds with tidy beddings. Π‘ourteous, helpful and obliging staff made visiting of this place a real pleasure! I want to come here again!

Great place to stay on a tight budget. Beautiful historic Oast House building, sensitively restored. Good facilities and friendly staff. Quiet location in lovely surroundings. Good number of parking spaces. Outdoor picnic area is particularly nice spot to get out on the lawn and enjoy the sunshine in summer. Reasonable options for purchasing evening meals and the option to use the self-catering kitchen which is well equipped and clean. Lounge with cosy sofa and easy chairs and a delightful wood burning stove!

We had a lovely stay! The stone baked pizzas were very good and the panini was served with a fresh, crisp salad. The breakfast was also very nice and good value. We only stayed for one night so we didn't explore the location. The facilities were very clean and our 3 children enjoyed playing table tennis. The gentleman on reception was very helpful and friendly and the hostel had a welcoming feel to it. We would definitely recommend it.

A ok stay for a family, the room was located right next to showers but unfortunately the toilets were through 2 sets of narrow hall ways with very heavy fire doors. Self catering kitchen is very small and has no ventilation so becomes very hot and cooking smells linger. Room was unbearably hot throughout the stay. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to ensure your stay was as comfortable as possible.
