Kellie @ Right-Step undertook the task of letting out a property for my business. She took care of everything. She surveyed, advertised the property and vetted potential tenants. The tenant chosen has been in the property for roughly two years and hassle free. kellie also managed to secure a rental price over and above of what I was expecting. Our family purchased a house via Remax Agents based in Chingford. Our experience was entirely with Aydin. In a nutshell, through the entire process we felt bullied, intimidated, threatened (to cancel the sale) and ultimately disrespected. The process started in March 2022. Our offer was accepted, along with three others- but we were put into a race as to who can provide all their documents first. We needed another week to provide the final document, which was littered with that's of putting the property back on the market. He did have the mere decency in the end to tell us the two other prospective buyers did not end up providing ask the documents and ended up pulling out (so why the rush and threats?). We were in an unfortunate case where we had already sold our previous property and the new the property needed to be in a certain area rendering us quite desperate to purchase. The chain was incomplete so I had an agreement with my solicitor that once the chain completes I will start to pay them. Somehow Aydin managed to find this out (concerning) and started with the threats again. Paying a £500 non refundable deposit to a solicitor when our sellers did not have a confirmed property to buy seemed a little silly to me. But I guess to an estate agent paying solicitor fees locks you into the sale somewhat so you ultimately end up waiting however long till your seller finds a suitable property. As I challenged this, his tone on WhatsApp became rude and confrontational. He then started questioning things, again in line with his threats to cancel the sale. He also threw in sly remarks such as "the market as a whole is short of available stock to buy" and "competing with more buyers" which both were uncalled from and unprofessional given the context. Once the chain was complete, again news from the solicitor, Aydin was completely uncontactable and not available at a critical time when we needed updates. I messaged him on the 25th of May, there was no response until 7 days later on the 1st of June to telling me he was on annual leave therefore unable to respond. I asked a few questions, to which he then responded again 6 days later on the 6th of June. This time for the delayed message he responded there was a family bereavement. I then did not hear back from him until 14 days later on the 20th of June. I respect that people are entitled to annual and bereavement leave, but as a professional company I would think someone would be in place to cover him in the mean time? We then did not hear from him for anothe 6 weeks, with unresolved queries. We bumped into the sellers on the local high road and they seemed to be having the same exact problem of not being able to get in touch with Aydin and left in the blank. They told me they regretted using Remax and would have preferred doing their own sale/viewings etc as Remax were "super unhelpful". We have had a roller coaster of a ride with Remax. The service from Aydin (who claimed to be a partner in the company) was unprofessional, confrontational and stressful. I would advise potential sellers to look elsewhere, even if you are required to pay a slightly higher price with another agent. From my experience, I have purchased twice via Kings Agent (south chingford)which was a smooth process and you are well informed and supported throughout the process. At Kings, the manager Luke was my point of contact who was really helpful and approachable. My neighbour also recently bought through Churchill agents of South Chingford, again with several praises.
I purchased a house through Re-max Chingford. I was lucky enough to have Aydin Ozkarakasli as my agent. He is very experienced and knows the market and process well. He supported us and the sale would of not happened without his input. I would recommend Re-max and especially Aydin if you need to sell otlr purchase in Chingford.
