   I am disappointed with the services. If you want treatment for your dog, I would not recommend going to L. CARRUTHERS. Remember this name and check on the website who is it. Three years ago, I went there with my dog for a vaccination. The dog was stressed by the surroundings of the busy road and the other animals in waiting room before the appointment. Previous appointments with other vets had been without problems. I asked her to familiarise herself with the dog and let dog atleast sniff her before starting the examination because the dog didn't know her, but my requests were ignored, and she immediately touched the dog near her tail. The dog did not like this, and ever since, the dog has been traumatised just being near that place. She is not agressive toward people but trying to escape from there. Another time, I went to her with a different dog because the dog had a headache when touched behind the ear or when scratching herself. It was so severe that she would even whimper in pain. This person's diagnosis was that the dog had an abscess in the mouth and a dental infection, without even looking inside the mouth, despite the pain occurring behind the ear, on the head. I believed her because I assumed she was a vet and knew better. She prescribed medication. (Whatever the condition, she prescribed the exact same medication to all my dogs every single time, even without a proper diagnosis.) Less than two months later, the dog suffered an epileptic seizure, went blind, and became deaf overnight, and died a week later. This vet is afraid of larger dogs, doesn't know how to handle them, and immediately displays stress and fear towards the dog. I recommend avoiding this person if you care about your dog. She is incompetent and seems to only know about cats. I will never come back there.

   I am very disappointed with the lack of knowledge and professionalism shown by some veterinarians I visited with my cat. The cat had a clearly visible third eyelid — a symptom that is not normal and can indicate a health issue. Despite this, I was told that “it’s normal” and “nothing to worry about.” Only after visiting another vet, who prescribed a deworming tablet, did the problem disappear — the third eyelid went back to normal. This clearly shows that the previous diagnosis was wrong. I also felt that I was treated dismissively — perhaps because I’m not a local resident. Unfortunately, this was a very bad experience that made me lose trust in those veterinarians. I expect proper knowledge, empathy, and genuine care for animals — not indifference or excuses.

   Couldn’t recommend enough! After having a bad experience at vets 4 pets this was the best choice I’ve made for my cat!! They got us into quickly, made my cat feel really calm and feeling so much better just after 1 day on meds!! Thank you southcrest vets

   Very friendly and welcoming vets. The staff are all lovely and really caring towards animals. Emily was also really helpful getting us started at the vets and is full information on animals especially our little Staff. We have been to see Dawn the past few appointments and she’s been very friendly and helpful especially sorting out River’s skin rash she had last week

   Booked for a certain price vaccine from options I was given and requested receptionist to stipulate this on my booking. Arrive at vets, vet is lovely, gives vaccine, go out to pay and receptionist is asking for a lot more than I was quoted. I question this and head receptionist comes over with an extremely bad attitude huffing & puffing & very sharply tells me I should have told vet which vaccine I wanted! I explained I told the receptionist at time of booking and she said that they have a colour coded system to which I told her means nothing to me as I don’t work there. She just kept arguing with me as she wasn’t happy about adjusting the price and acted as though she was doing me a favour for only charging me what I’d been quoted. Rude, arrogant and in desperate need of customer service training!

   Excellent. Very poorly cat the vet found time to see and saved his life. Very skitty, difficult cat that the vet handled so well and helped me be able to help hold him too. Right injections, follow up meds and l have an increasingly bright, getting better beautiful boy all thanks to this practice.

   Most awful experience recently. Took my dog as I have been for many years , my dog can knly take one certain anti-inflammatory, as others make her very ill. This was specifically explained to the nurse on the day of my dogs operation. Was even written in the form. But they still prescribed it to my dog . Needles to say WE WON'T BE GOING BACK AGAIN.

   Southcrest vets is such lovely, friendly and understanding veterinary practice. We have a nervous dog and they are so understanding and patient with him. Every visit they try and build up his trust as well as treat the problem. Definitely recommend them. Their love for animals is so clear and it reflects in the quality of the treatment they provide.
