   This is the second time our two dogs have stayed here and never again. I thought the second time might be better and gave them the benefit of the doubt. When they first stayed in November 24 for 5 days only one update and one lot of photos, Rocco our staffie came back skinny and had lost weight, We agreed next time he would be on a food watch. Second time around July 25 I asked for more updates and photos to which the older lady responded we have 30 dogs staying we can’t Possibly give updates everyday which I can understand however I want more than one update for an 8 day stay. I had to ask for a second update while I was away. With respect dogs are like family and you trust people to look after them. When we dropped them off I was going through both dogs food habits and portions and Rocco has supplements for his skin allergies which is put in his food. Not once was any of this written down??? If already saved in the system fair enough but communicate that with me so I know? I honestly think you give your dogs over and they just do as they please when they want with them. There feels to be a slight air of neglect and I will never use these kennels again. The older ladies attitude on the front desk stinks aswell (she is not the owner). When we picked them up the staff were mute. No update on the week they’ve had or how they’ve enjoyed it or exchange of update and I didn’t ask as I knew that was the reception I would receive and wanted it to play out. Not luxury dog boarding at all.

   On the morning of August 5th, I checked in my bullmastiff for an overnight stay. Upon arrival, his health was in excellent condition. When I returned the following morning just before 10 AM to collect him, I noticed he refused his favorite treat, which was highly unusual given his typically strong appetite. As I attempted to load him into the car, he instead moved toward the yard, experiencing a watery bowel movement followed by vomiting. The staff attributed these symptoms to stress. However, upon arriving home, he continued to have two more episodes of watery stools at several-hour intervals. Regrettably, this experience has led us to decide not to return to this hotel in the future.

   Our beautiful gentle Leonberger Lola is our pride and joy so before entrusting her to any Doggy Daycare or Boarding hotel I had visited quite a few before we chose The Grove. The location is great, just off the M6 Toll in Lichfield. The kennels are super clean and well set up. The staff are really friendly and genuinely take an interest in the dogs. They looked after Lola and sent me pictures and a video of her while we were away. Their drop off/pick up times are really great and the best thing of all Lola came out of there looking like she'd had a ball!

   My two boys have stayed at the grove multiple times and it has been a pleasurable experience knowing they're not only going into very good hands but the dogs themselves get excited when they see their holiday bag being packed up to go! Highly recommend.

   Becky, Sophie, Jess and Jack - THANK YOU! You’ve made our dog so happy and she has come out of The Grove even happier than the dog she went in as. Can’t fault this kennels enough, small details such as cleaning the bowls out and the lovely photos and updates you receive. My partner was anxious to leave her as he never had done but you guys really nailed it. Thanks so much again and looking forward to bringing her back in Feb!

   Jack and Harry were extremely helpful and very friendly. We took our dog Haska to visit and see if she would settle in, they both attended to her straight away and were so kind and gentle with her. It was extremely clean, even the fields where the dogs play and the bedrooms were completely suitable and much better than your regular kennel of cages. Our dog is a very nervous and cautious dog around people she doesn’t know, but instantly was calm and relaxed around both of them. Everyone who we saw on site looked so happy to do their job and sounded extremely passionate. Bonus point is how secure the building is and the surrounding areas. We’ve booked 2 weekends and can’t wait to have Haska enjoy herself in an extremely dog loving passionate kennel that clearly looks after it’s clients and doggies!

   We went to check out our. Look at the website and visit the place. Light and shade! Dog mess littered around. Grim. Tiled, bland kennels. The exercises squares were not what I expected. 50 dogs and work out the maths when they tell you how much time they spend with the dogs!! There are far better out there.

   Our golden retriever, Amber, loves it here. She is only 18 months old. She had a stay for one day and night as a trial prior to our 2 week holiday. When we returned to drop her for the holiday, she couldn't wait to get through the doors and out to socialise with the other dogs! Staff have kept us up to date whilst we were away and sent pictures of her having such fun with the other pooches. The staff are all fabulous and genuinely care for and enjoy the dog's company. We wouldn't send her anywhere else! Queuing in the foyer, waiting to drop off and pick up your dog, whilst chatting to others, all of the other clients say the same thing. Their dogs have been coming for 10+ years. Need you look anywhere else?!
