Oxford Street has a huge mix of high-end brands and more affordable, normal shops, so there’s plenty of choice. However, in December it gets extremely overcrowded – it was very hard to walk and you’re basically squished between people most of the time. That said, the Christmas lights are lovely and do add a nice atmosphere, even if the crowds can be a bit overwhelming.

Best place for shopaholics. Amazing shops like Prime mark, TK max, M&S foods, Boots, Ikea, H&M, Zara, JD and many more. Great food outlets. But beware of pickpockets, they come on bicycle and snatch phones.

Oxford Street during Christmas is an explosion of festive energy. The entire stretch shines brilliantly with thousands of twinkling lights, eye-catching displays, and massive illuminated decorations hanging across the road. Walking here feels like being inside a giant Christmas festival. The holiday window displays are beautifully curated—each store trying to outdo the next. The lights cast a soft glow on the crowds, buses, and storefronts, creating a magical atmosphere that feels warm and exciting at the same time. Even with the crowds, the vibe is so cheerful that you can’t help but smile. Oxford Street at Christmas is iconic, lively, dazzling, and truly unforgettable—one of the best festive experiences in all of London.

I stayed here for a week, and it was such an enjoyable experience. It’s a lively, colorful, and vibrant street filled with many shops, cafés, and restaurants, and it’s also very close to the beach. You might need to be a bit careful in this area — I personally didn’t experience anything unfortunate at night, but it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on your phone and wallet. Overall, though, it’s a really fun and exciting place where I don’t think you could ever get bored.

I walk here every Thursday and Friday. That's because my university is on this route. So I feel quite privileged.
