I come here regularly on my own to buy my dog some of the little treats at the front next to the counter. I sometimes have a look around, I sometimes don’t. On two different occasions, I’ve come in with my partner and both times we have had a staff member (not too sure if it’s the same one) stop what they’re doing and immediately move further down the counter, pretending to do something else, whilst watching us. It’s only when I come in with my partner, does this happen. It’s very unwelcoming and rather discriminating. I shall assume it’s because he was wearing a puffer coat and a beanie hat (it’s December) as I didn’t see the staff member going out of her way to watch the other customers have a look around. I’ve got a dog, cats and a rabbit which is why I have a look around the whole shop, it’s also nice to have a look at the birds they have. Not that I should have to explain why I had a look at all five isles. However, we won’t be coming here again. Manners and politeness cost nothing. If you cannot trust your customers, you could install cctv so you can watch them on a screen so people don’t feel so judged. Nobody wants to put a £2 meaty dog chew up their sleeve, we would much rather pay and take it in a bag. Thankyou :)

Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always happy to help and seem to really prioritise animal welfare. The store itself has lots of good stock for a range of animals :)

There’s a lot of bad reviews on here regarding customer service but I must admit, I had a great experience in the store with a lass called Heidi today. She literally explained everything I needed to know about pet fleas and was really patient with a dumb ass like me

Both the young girls behind the till were rude and dismissive today from the minute I stepped in the door. No manners or customer service skills. Definitely definitely won’t be shopping here again and judging by the reviews I’m hearing other people feel the same, their attitudes are DIABOLICAL. Don’t know what their issue was.

I come here once nearly every week for my pup and honestly just disappointed at the opening hours of this place nearly everytime I come they never open up on time. I'm standing here at 11:35 am when they should have been open at 10?? If the hours need updating please do so or at least please tell your employees to come in at least near to on time for work. I've needed supplies desperately for my dog and I'm now having to travel to pets at home.

Nice prices but dangerous toys. Purchased a gingerbread man chew toy on a rope and the plastic comes off very easily and my puppy eats it. Not even close to durable enough to be a chew toy. I’ve had to remove the gingerbread man from the rope. ( wish I knew how to add a picture)

I went in store this morning to have a look around (I hadn’t been in this store for 5 years so I thought I’d have a look - I previously didn’t find anything too bad about the animal care). I was met with a rabbit who had very little water (and what was there had wood shavings in). I very kindly asked if the rabbit could be given water and was met with a cheeky tone of “yeah it’ll be done this morning.” As if the care of the animals isn’t the most important thing. Isn’t this a job that should be done before the shop opens? Why get a job in a pet shop if you don’t care for them. in addition to this, the rabbit really needed cleaning out and didn’t have a lot of hay. There was no enrichment. Just wood shavings, a small amount of hay, 3 or 4 empty food bowls and 1 with the smallest amount of water with wood shavings in with one wooden bridge. That poor bunny. Overall, poor and unsuitable conditions for rabbits as well as hamster cages and accessories which are also too small and unsafe. EDIT: as the owner has replied, I can confidently say when I was there there were NO water bottles present. Although, there probably would be now after my feedback - still Water bottles aren’t the best choice for bunnies. There was still not a lot of hay or enrichment, if anything I would say the enclosure was just under the absolute bare minimum.

Don’t understand the negative reviews of this place- especially those regarding the staff. In my experience the staff are all incredibly friendly, polite, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Bought a harness for my dog a few months ago without knowing if it would fit him, staff member told me that if it didn’t fit, I could come back and swap it! Above and beyond customer service considering I’d have to take the packaging off etc. such a wide range of treats, toys, and bones. All very fairly priced too compared to places like pets at home.

Such helpful and commited staff to the animals making sure that they get their forever homes. They make sure that the animals are given as much attention and are held regularly to make them tame. My little hamster has been no problem with regards to handling because of this. The animal products are good quality and it's always fun to have a look as stock changes frequently and doesn't get boring.
