I had a great time learning how to make jewellery from silver. The teacher, Jonathan, was friendly and patient, teaching us all of the required skills using copper first, before we switched to silver. I was really pleased with the silver thumb ring I made, and I've had lots of compliments about it! I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to make jewellery with silver.

A friendly little class which made my complete inexperience, having never made any jewellery before, very enjoyable. I still cannot believe I made such a lovely ring for my Son for Christmas !! Thank you Jonathon for being a patient skilled tutor and the home made flapjacks were delicious :-)

This was a fantastic gift experience for my birthday. My friend and I had such a great time and came away with some lovely pieces of homemade jewellery. Jonathan has a really easy, calm, patient manner and guides you through each step. The flapjacks were tasty too!

A group of us attended for a birthday and at first we had no idea what to expect, and we were truly blown away. Jonathan is knowledgeable, patient, and made everything incredibly enjoyable. It was our first time doing something like this, and I think the group is already keen to come back and try something a little more elaborate. Thank you again!

My friend and I treated ourselves to something a bit different - a morning workshop at Salt Way Silver, Droitwich. Host Jonathan explained in perfect detail each stage and helped (where needed) and was very encouraging. Lots of samples and ideas for designs. We were a class of 4 but plenty of space and time for us all. Coffee and flapjacks were a welcomed treat. Proud of our end results (both choosing different styles of ring(s). Would highly recommend and will certainly be returning to fashion more unique jewellery in the future - maybe earrings next time! Fabulous value - great gift idea! ☺️

I spent a day with four friends (a college reunion weekend) in Jonathan's studio, in February 2023. (It was supposed to be on the boat on March 2020, but Covid got in the way!) Frustrating as the delay was, it was well worth waiting for! Jonathan was fabulous at teaching a variety of techniques, and was happy to answer our many questions. We spent the morning practising using copper, with a short break for delicious cake! The sun came out for us, and we were able to eat our lunch in a sunny corner of the garden, before heading back inside to discuss our 'silver plans' and to begin work. I was expecting to come away with one item, and would have been happy with that, but the copper 'practise' items were fantastic! I now have a lovely bag charm and pendant, in addition to a gorgeous silver bangle. I've recommended Salt Way Silver to a number of friends who might want something a bit different to do with friends or family - and I will continue to do so. We had a brilliant day! Many thanks, Jonathan.

My wife booked this course as a 13th birthday present for our daughter, we had no idea what to expect but what a revelation it was. Jonathan has the patience of a saint and his explanations of techniques, tools to use and materials is thorough but easy to follow as novices to jewellery making. After practising on several copper pieces, we were let loose on the silver, our daughter had a design for a ring she wanted, drew the idea down and although some elements were small and fiddly, Jonathan helped her to get mark out, cut and solder the different elements of the ring she'd designed and it turned out just as she wanted it............AMAZING !!!! Really can't recommend Salt Way Silver highly enough, we plan to return ourselves at some point. Thank you Jonathan for a wonderful experience :)

We booked a full day beginner's course with Salt Way Silver after receiving a recommendation by a colleague. We weren't disappointed! Jonathan gave us the most enjoyable day, helping us master the basics in the morning using copper and including silver soldering which set us up for an afternoon using the real stuff to make a necklace and gent's ring. The day was so well planned and structured by Jonathan and the background folk music soundtrack and home made cake for elevenses made everything feel even more relaxed and friendly. We were joined by another student for the day and it was lovely getting to meet & know new people. We can't recommend Salt Way Silver highly enough and a return visit is already being planned - thank you so much Jonathan for a fantastic day. David & Rachael

If crafting is your thing, with or without any skill, then you will love learning to make jewellery with Jonathan. I attended this course with my big sister and best friend. My sister was enthusiastic but nervous when she saw the list of tools we’d be using and skills we would be taught. She needn’t have been. Jonathan is a calm and patient teacher and didn’t just make it look easy. He broke down each step so it was actually very easy to follow. We all made very different bangles but we were all absolutely lately delighted with our creations. There is something joyous about making something so when you can wear your creation too, there is nothing not to like.
