   Our first dog Frankie, and a rescue dog is causing us some concern as she is experiencing a phantom pregnancy. We have visited James at Hackenthorpe 3 times for help with this issue and cannot fault his professionalism, care and attention he gives to both us, as first time dog owners and Frankie. He is reassuring us that we are doing all the rights things, he is offering advice and knowledge and is explaining what he is investigating first before he goes into further investigations should they be required. We were advised by friends to use Hackenthorpe Vets and would not hesitate to recommend them to other pet owners. Rebecca has also gone above and beyond to give us first hand advise on getting Frankie through this difficult time. Big thank you’s to all the staff who are all very pleasant and helpful.    Been going to this vets for years. It was fabulous as Crookes but has gone down hill since taken over by Springfields. Having said that our pet has never had a bad experience in almost 14years until today. Since its been Springfields he's always seen the same two who have always shown nothing but care and compassion. For whatever reason they have both left the practice with in months of each other. Emily is now his vet! In almost 14 years we have never felt so 'cost shamed' her way to practice is to discuss everything in the waiting area and refuses to allow you or your animal in a consultation room until its clear on the money thats going to come from it! When she whipped him off she refused to let us in the room with him and then it turns out she didnt even do anything with him! Well apparently but what did she do? Who knows. She had no consideration for our pets well fare whatsoever, it wasnt considered once. There is so much more to say on this matter. The ladies on the phones are and always have been lovely and caring. Today it felt like two different buisnesses going on in there.

   I highly recommend this vets James was amazing izzy my son has also has his pet registered here and he loves how much James loves all pets the staff are welcoming and so polite and put you at ease as well if you’re wanting a good vets then here is the best one for you

   Rebecca the veterinary nurse cut my rabbits nails and my 2 guinea pigs. Very ably assisted by another veterinary nurse as the guinea pigs were harder to hold. I think she must be a guinea pig whisperer as they were both so good with her! Will definitely come back!

   Appalling surgery, kicked my dog off the books because we hadn't had a visit recently (didn't even have the courtesy to inform me!) Not going to take my dog for a visit unnecessarily just to stay registered! Thank god it was only to book his annual jabs in when I found out and not that he was actually unwell as we wouldn't have been able to book with them....do yourselves a favour and register with a surgery that puts animals first...not how many times you visit!

   Excellent practice, I have had nothing but 100% care and consideration everytime I have had to bring my dog in for various reasons be it operations ,emergency care or just a phone call if I've needed advice. I travel a distance to come to the practice and wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

   I’ve been going to this vet for over 14 years now, and although over the years it’s changed quite a bit, I feel I trust the, especially Lauren. She suggested I take my little man to the Hospital in Darby a few years ago as she suspected he may have cancer. She was right. He had an operation, and it gave us another couple of years with him, which I will be forever grateful. I know the prices have gone up, but to be honest, I don’t really care, it’s worth it. I trust my pets are getting the best treatment. Unless that changes, I’ll be staying with Crookes.
