I have been working with Ana for the last couple of months and as a complete beginner in the gym, her PT sessions have been invaluable. Ana has taken the time to clearly explain each exercise / form so that I understand the how and why in a supportive way without overwhelming me as a beginner. Ana knows exactly how to push me in each session - often encouraging me to do more than I ever thought I was capable of doing! It’s really clear that Ana genuinely cares about her clients progress but also wellbeing and I definitely now see the gym as less of a ‘scary’ place because of her!

I’ve been training with Ana for just two months, and the progress I’ve made has been incredible. She’s energetic, enthusiastic, and genuinely encouraging every step of the way. What I appreciate most is how focused she is on proper form and technique; she makes sure every movement is done safely and effectively. Thanks to her guidance and confidence-building approach, I’ve gone from 40kg to 110kg on my hip thrusts, something I never imagined I’d achieve so quickly. Ana is an amazing PT, and I feel stronger, more capable, and more motivated each session. Highly recommend!

I joined David Lloyd and started PT sessions with Ana Ava at the same time. Having never joined a gym before, it's been so valuable to have Ana guiding me through and building my confidence. I'm 6 months postpartum an it's only been a month of PT sessions and I already feel such a difference and am lifting heavier than I thought I would. Ana is fab - she's encouraging without being too pushy, genuinely celebrates your wins and adjusts each session to what you need. I'd really recommend her!

I've had 3 free sessions with Ana Ava PT at the David Lloyd Gym in Leeds. Ana is lovely, she is so supportive and understanding. I enjoyed all 3 sessions which have given me an amazing kick-start. I feel Ana is the best PT, she really motivates you and works according to you and your body. I've had exp with other PT's but they've not been great. Since meeting Ana I have made progress with myself in my day to day life and I'm maintaining it. I feel so much better witjin me and my weight is reducing slowly. Wohoo. Thank you Ana for all your advice, I would definitely recommend Ana as a PT.

Me and my wife pay £305 a month to come here, and unfortunately the changing rooms are extremely poor. There’s mould everywhere in the showers and on the ceiling, they never have any tissues, the hair dryers never work or have any power, and there’s rubbish around with pubic hair often left all over the sinks. This really isn’t what we expect from David Lloyd, especially with premium prices. We’ve informed reception and management multiple times about this but there’s been no improvement. I’m not one to leave negative reviews, but this just isn’t right and really needs addressing.

I have been a member for over 15 years and this place has gone down hill so much over the past year or so. Showers are dated and smelling. The Sinks are dirty. Some Facilities are always out of order. No spaces to park your car. Recently the female staff have been coming in to the male changing rooms whilst males are getting changed becoming very aggressive and ordering members out bang on 11pm where as before there has always been a 5-10 minute grace period for members to get Changed. Other DL clubs across the country still have this 5-10 minute Grace still in place.

Very hard to get hold of staff on the phone. Usually impossible. Constant issues with failing pool heating. Poor / slow service in the restaurant. Fairly scruffy these days, doesn't feel as premium as it did some years ago. Inflexible and expensive membership options considering the afore mentioned issues.

Hi guys, I have been trying to contact the club for almost 24hours and haven't been able to get through. I've been on the phone for nearly an hour this morning 9am-10am trying to speak with someone, but it just rings out. I've sent emails yesterday and again this morning, but no response - I'm trying to cancel a squash court and don't want to incur a penalty. I could see that you respond to the reviews and thought this might the only method of getting through to someone at the club. My name is Matthew Wignall, please can you cancel my booking for tonight, and without a penalty due to it being practically impossible to reach you!

Awful customer's experience. When I wanted to join and sent enquiry, I received call back within a day. Later, when I needed to stop membership due to health conditions, I sent enquiry and 3 weeks later no one responded me or contacted me. In approximately one week time I arrived to the club and brought letter from my doctor, suggesting to stop my membership. The receptionist passed enquiry again to a relevant department along with letter. She said, someone will be in touch within 1-2 days. Again, more than a week passed and nothing happened. In a meanwhile I was charged for GBP173 again (monthly payment for my and my 11-years old daughter's membership), though receptionist said if I will be charged, I will be refunded and it didn't happen. We both are not attending the club for 1.5 months. Therefore, no any calls or emails from the club so far, it is impossible to call through to reception as no one is responding the calls. I feel very disappointed and suggest you to think twice, when you think of joining them. It is worth to mention that equipment is very old and overall refurbishment is old too, so it is not the value for money you pay for it.

Been going to DL over a year now, all in all I think it’s a nice place. I think they could have more and better gym equipment though. There’s 4 squat racks which are pretty much always in use, and there’s no dedicated benches/apparatus for hip thrusts which I’ve seen a lot of the cheaper gyms have. It would also be good to know how many members are in the gym at any given time so you can plan when you go, I prefer to go when it’s quiet so I don’t have to wait around for stuff, again, the cheaper gyms have this feature too (X4L). Not sure how they would track this though as you don’t swipe in for the gym specifically. Maybe a traffic counter on the gym entrance? When I was doing a tour before signing up I specifically asked the chap if you could use the class rooms (the HIIT room at the back of the gym) when there’s no classes on, which he said yes. I used this for a while until one day it was locked, I asked an instructor but was told for insurance purposes people can’t use those rooms unattended? Bit of a shame because there’s limited free floor space in the gym and if you like to do your own circuits and stuff there’s not much space to do this in (there’s a small running track but this is often in use). A lot of the cheaper gyms do have rooms that you can use when classes aren’t happening. The womens showers are a bit run down and could probably use a refurb. However the changing rooms are lovely and I love that there’s dressing tables to get ready at, they also have GHD dryers. The spa is pretty nice although they removed the heated stone massage chairs and replaced them with standard loungers. I adore the steam room and the lava pool, no more post-workout aching! Staff are very friendly and the free towel service is very handy, although the towels are pretty hard, not nice and fluffy (don’t use fabric conditioner on the towels as this makes them hard). I don’t really do classes but they offer a huge range and Blaze is a really fun class, if ever I don’t have motivation to do my own workout I’ll book a Blaze class and I always love it. The spin studio is pretty too. There is a cafe/restaurant but in all honesty, the food isn’t great at all, but I don’t go for the food so I’m not fussed. However, they do some nice blended protein shakes which are delicious! All in all, would recommend DL, still the nicest gym I’ve been to and it’s close to my house, I’m not willing to travel further for a nicer gym. I genuinely love going to DL and I’m actually excited to go to the gym now, I could never go back to a budget gym as I did at uni. Well worth the money ❤️
