If a car crash was a Jewellers, it would be this place. This happened last year. Initially my wife and I got quotes for wedding rings in the Sheffield store, this was the second quote we've gotten from this chain of jewellers as we wanted to make sure we got it right. We were quoted about £500 for two rings. A month later I go to the Leeds store, hand them the quote and tell them I'd like to put the deposit down. The woman took the quote card and looked very confused, she then disappeared in the back for about 15 minutes and came out with a big page full of sums which I would have needed the Rosetta Stone to make sense of. Apparently the price of the rings had doubled, going from £500 to £1k. I understand gold goes up a lot, but not 100% in 30 days. When i asked for an explanation, the woman in question literally laughed at me and gave me the impression she didn't really care, that I should just deal with it and accept it because she said so and she knew best. And the fact that I had a hand written quote from the same company didn't make any difference, what she said went and that was just the way it was. She then proceeded to tell me she could offer me a 10% discount from the whole price. In reality, that meant she could add 80% the price the same company quoted me 30 days previously. I of course, made a complaint which went absolutely nowhere. I was advised that different branches of this chain of shops use different suppliers, and apparently this allows the huge disparity in price. Heaven forbid a company provide consistent service across its whole operation. And that unfortunately was kind of it, no attempt to put it right, no promise of investigating poor staff attitudes, no commitment to any kind of joined up thinking. Naturally we went elsewhere because I'd rather set my money on fire then give it to this company. And I would recommend you do the same. To me, my experience with this jewellers smacks of nothing more than a self-important company thinking that it's ok to use predatory business practise and the worst kind of opportunism. It's hiding behind a facade of a pretentious family business whilst trying to inflict crappy, corner cutting, business practises on to customers rather than actually prioritising good customer services. If I was buying a pair of socks, fair enough, but when you're asking people to fork over hundreds of pounds, better service is needed. I would genuinely recommend you go anywhere else than here.

I was deeply disappointed to discover that the pre-owned diamond ring I purchased from this store was not a genuine diamond, but rather a moissanite stone. Upon having it evaluated by a reputable jeweller, I was informed that true diamonds do not exhibit a rainbow-colored shine, something clearly visible in this ring. Despite the store using equipment to claim its authenticity, the results were misleading. When I requested a certification of authenticity before purchase, I was told that, due to the ring being pre-owned, certification would be my own responsibility after purchase. This experience reflects a lack of transparency and professionalism from the staff. I strongly urge future customers to exercise caution and verify all details independently before making a purchase.

After seeing a beautiful watch in the store window, I enquired if other colour variations were available. I was told others may in storage downstairs, but I should return with a specific model number. Good customer service would have been to invest two minutes in bringing the other variations to me, rather than asking me to return another day. Consequently, I made my purchase elsewhere.

I took my ring in for a redesign and sadly they did not live up to the expectation. They seemed in a rush and once I received the final product I realised they didn’t include half the detail in the brief for the ring maker/manufacturer. Essentially, I paid tons of money for 2/5 things I asked for. They even confirmed over email and returned the ring in the wrong weight. I didn’t want to leave my ring with them any longer so I just took it as is. They had the ring for 2 months (2 weeks over the expected return date). Is a shame because I thought they would be the best local option! Won’t use them again.

I bought my rings online and it was my first time buying from them. The black Fridays offers were good and I was lucky enough to find my rings in my size. They arrived today and I'm so happy. Even the packaging is so nice although, I expected much less since my rings were bought during their sales. It was refreshing to learn this did not affect their level of customer service and care. I had an awful experience. I took my watch to adjust the bracelet. The Lady that did it was at the back and did not come to size my wrist. She changed it to the staff suggestion and charged me £10 pounds. I got the watch went out and felt it was too tight on my wrist. I went back after 5minutes to say I think its too small and I need a link added to the watch links but was denied and said you need to leave the watch and pay additional £10 again!!!! And this was confirmed by the manager of the branch. I could not believe it. I told her I would rather pay someone else to do it rather than be insulted to my face! I will never visit this place again!!!! So frustrating.

used the buy back service for a few days , was charged a full month of intrest despite item being in a couple of days . i feel this is not fully legit to charge a full months worth of intrest even if an item is in 1 day for example , as no other pawn brokers do this within sheffield , HnT and all the others , i will have to look into the law /regulation surrounding this with relevent orgnisations , but i beleive they cannot do that . not in 2022 at least it must be calculated by the day as far as i am aware acording to the law . i could be wrong but will be checking , and on the website says they are proud of their low intrest rates , well charging a full months intrest for an item in 1 day is not low intrest rates when everysingle competitor costs far far far less and calculates it fair by the day so the longer its in the more your charged and charged accordingly not charged for days it is not in pawn . And the lady who served me when getting the item back was not happy lets say was service without a smile lol

Went to exchange a gift for a like for like watch. Amazing watch but such bad customer service. No enthusiasm or passion and made my experience at Browns feel awkward. Please consider how you make customers feel when they’re spending so much money at a small business like yours.

I'm satisfied that they did all they could to repair my watch but I realise now with it being an antique it is always going to be a bit temperamental but works so all in all thankyou to the staff at browns as they showed me a lot of patience although marie was a bit annoyed with me when I went to pick it up. But i dont really blame her for that anyway I would just like to say they are a friendly bunch of people (actually women as I've never seen a bloke working there) and lastly thankyou for your help in choosing several really nice items which love especially my wrist watch Merry Christmas to you all and all the best for the coming year.
