Cannot recommend hallmarks enough, we have been in a couple times with different enquiries, always more than happy to help, we have have numerous items appraised and had a couple altered/mended. The craftsmanship is unbelievable. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy place.
We had the most fantastic experience dealing with this oldschool craftsman. I inherited an art deco Sapphire ring and I have taken this to a very large well-known Sheffield jewellers to be size smaller to be told that unfortunately this wouldn’t be something they could do as it would be detrimental to the ring I was most disappointed. We were recommended to use this jewellers Hallmark gold and silver Smith to be warm greeted on our arrival and to be told it was no problem whatsoever to resize this beautiful diamond and Sapphire ring. He did the most fantastic job we were highly delighted so returned with two gold wedding things that we wanted to be made into one which again he did an excellent job with. These type of jewellers are very few and far between pricewise extremely competitive on price with regard to the two wedding rings.
I would leave no stars if I could. I am truly disappointed with my experience. We were promised my necklace would be fixed within a week. When we went in to collect it he jumped out of seat forgetting it even existed. This necklace is extremely important to me. I wouldn’t recommend this service. He is clueless and I wouldn’t trust him with any special jewellery.
In spite of the fact that his daughter ( who does the restringing of pearl necklaces) had just had a baby and was therefore only able to work part time, David and his daughter pulled out all the stops to have the pearl necklace that we urgently needed for a wedding ready in time. I've waited 25 years for the engagement ring my husband promised me, and he's been given headache about it everytime an engagement announcement has been made in our hearing. This year on our 25th Wedding Anniversary he presented me with a beautiful, hand crafted and unique emerald and diamond ring which he'd had made from scratch. Not only that but he'd asked David to use a treasured Gold Ring of my fathers for the gold. David retained the original band, but by reducing the band width he was able to use the extra gold from the sides to craft a stunning Eternity ring and gemstone setting. The core of my fathers ring was kept intact and resized for me to wear on a different finger, as a plain band. I can't express how special this was for me, 30 years after losing my Dad. The only issue is that I can't bend my husbands ear about an engagement ring anymore - he knocked it out of the park with this one, and David was the one who made it all happen. If you're looking for a traditional, old fashioned craftsman with 40+ years of exprience, David is your man.

Needed my wife's wedding and engagement ring resized. We'd been told by numerous jewellers that this was not possible, yet David immediately reassured us that he could do this. Not only that, but he noticed that the settings on my wife's engagement ring needed to be repaired . Only a few months earlier, a diamond had actually fallen out and we had taken it to a very reputable jewellers in Sheffield who sent it off to be repaired, yet didn't mention the fact that the other settings were compromised (another amazing thing about Hallmark Goldsmiths is that all work is done on-site). David did an incredible job both resizing the rings and also repairing the engagement ring, all for a great price. Great advice and reassurance given at all stages of work. Great to know that there is a top-notch crafstman within close vicinity in Sheffield where you know your treasured jewellry is safe. Highly recommended and thanks, David, for all your work!
