   Small, but perfectly formed! Askern isn't a huge facility - but what it does, it does really well. Lots of free parking, with a big overflow further up the hill. However, better signage to the entrance would be helpful for people who are new (up the stairs and over the footbridge, with a lift for pram/wheelchair access). Everywhere is spotlessly clean and fresh - there is clearly a lot of pride from the team at Askern to keep it that way! Changing rooms are unisex cubicles and are light and well maintained. All the lockers have doors, they all lock, and keys all have numbered wristbands (pound coin or shopping trolley token required). The showers have great water pressure and are nice and warm. The pool isn't enormous - but there's still plenty of elbow room for people to swim lengths, the water is a good temperature. The staff are pleasant, polite and helpful - they don't act like you're an inconvenience when you ask them something. The website and timetable needs some TLC (the information was incorrect on the day I visited). Overall, an excellent establishment if you just want to have a good swim - I will definitely be coming back!

   I go swimming here every week and it's fantastic. The changing rooms are clean and seem quite new, the staff have always been really nice, the pool is clean. I also love that they play the radio in the swimming area, it's great to have something to listen to. Also the adult swim times are super convenient when you work a 9-5 job. No complaints!

   I like that it's spacious, I like that they play nice music. The downside of it is that you can't go anytime you want, only certain hours. I wish it was cleaner in the lockers and shower area, and maybe a good way to do that is have people use flip-flops everywhere they walk inside. In the reception/waiting area, it smells a bit from the toilets near. But the atmosphere is relaxed, and I never felt embarrassed.

   The refurbished leisure centre is fantastic. Shame there are no baby changing facilities in the main changing area. Once car park and cafe are open it will be a lot better.

   Dirty building. Dirty Pool. The smell of urine is worse than the smell of the chlorine. Disgusting changing rooms. Would definitely not recomend

   Askern Leisure Centre is a very good location if you wish to swim or practice canoeing, there is plenty of parking a pool,gym and some lovely staff the pool is in good condition but just like most other DCLT locations it is beginning to show it’s age.The changing rooms are kept in good condition with warm showers toilets and lots of storage lockers. Overall I am going to issue 4 stars, 5 if it is touched up with a bit of paint.

   5 Stars for the staff who provide a safe, professional swimming experience. Also for the modest but pleasant gym with woodland views, clean working equipment and water dispenser. 1 Star for DCLT (Doncaster Culture [an oxymoron] and Leisure Trust). They clearly want rid in favour of their flag ship leisure centre at Adwick. Not that DCLT manages Adwick much better; they are slow to repair the showers for the men's gym there. Their Askern centre is starved off investment support. The lockers are still in old money and most don't work. DCLT could at least have sent Adwick's old locker mechanisms to Askern when Adwick was modernised. DCLT is very much DMBC it seems - arrogant politics trump public service every time.
