Beautiful waterfall especially after the rainfall we have had. I’d recommend visiting when it’s rained as otherwise there isn’t a lot of water. Wear good footwear with grip and waterproof as there is either steps or a path to get to the falls. Lovely place recommend
Brilliant waterfall hidden just off a main path. No one else around. Best to visit after wet weather as lots of water flowing. Beautiful hidden paradise.
Wanted to visit this place and a while and wasn't disappointed. Although only a little waterfall it was still beautiful and only a short walk to get to. Not much water due to the limited rainfall we've had in the UK lately but its definitely worth a return during the next down pour.
Nice little waterfall just off an easy pathway. Access isn't the easiest, but you can get down to get a decent view and you can get to the top also.
A few ways to walk to see the falls, it'd rained so a nice amount of water, though more a stream leading off them. Can just about see them from the old railway line, take care walking down
It is a bit of a climb down and will be slippery if wet but very pretty waterfall when you get there. The sad story behind the name is interesting too.
Folly Dolly Falls are local to me. It's a pretty place whatever the weather but the quantity of water in the Falls is completely dependent on local weather conditions. So we get somewhat frustrated by visitors who visit in a dry spell and then complain about the lack of water. Come when it's raining, or when it's been raining hard, then it's stunning. Also, please take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints. It's heartbreaking to see this pretty place spoiled by the remains of people's picnics stewn everywhere. Pic is of the Falls just now (mid-Jan 2023). A good time to visit!
Lovely walk. However, there wasn't any water falling (must of been due to lately dry weather). We have enjoyed the walk till there though. We have also rest on the benches on our way. Dogs are welcome. We have parked near Morrison and then we did like 10-15 minutes walk.
Easy to find, friendly locals. Went today ; Unfortunately it's a dry season at the moment. I would suggest to go after couple days of rain to see its potential xx hope that helps x
We didn't get to explore as much as we liked as our youngest was nervous with the weather and force of the waterfall. However, it didn't disappoint. No sign posts, and the person we asked wasn't very forthcoming as to it's whereabouts as it was 'a local gem that no one knew about when she was young'. It's fairly easy to work out, though. I'd recommend you park on or near Bent Ley Road if possible and walk back across the road. There's an entry to footpath next to the house near the new builds heading right from that road. We actually cut through under a bridge and went the paths less travelled, shall we say! Head straight down the path once on it for a few minutes, and you can't miss the falls on the right. There's a break in the fence where you can climb down on the waterfall side. The weather was atrocious but stopped raining for our walk. It was ideal as the falls were brilliant because of the amount of rain we'd had.
