Came across this park on our day out and loved it. Big first positive was the FREE CAR PARK, a positive that's getting rare. but also no height restriction (we're in Sprinter campervan). Large parking bays but also with room to "hang" over the grass he needed. I believe the park was, in years gone bye, an old colliery. It's now has a huge fishing lake loads of geese and other water birds. Walking and cycling paths and cafe and toilets. Very nice place to be on a sunny day. They must also have horse riding paths as the car park has a provision for horse boxes. Immediately next door, with connecting paths, there is Caravan and Motorhome site. Great location with Chesterfield only a short drive away. If you want to take the bus into Chesterfield you will have a 20 minute walk to get to the bus stop then a ride of about 20 minutes.

Absolutely beautiful area. Really clean lots of benches and picnic tables, free parking. The pathways are fantastic very easy for disabled people, to use. Had the best bacon and egg sandwich and breakfast sandwich with a delicious hot chocolate and cups of teas.

Love this place. Convenient car parks, easy walk on flat paths, lots of water birds and doves that like to be fed (seed not bread), lovely views across the water and peaceful. Cafe.

A delightful place to walk with family and dogs. A great cafe is open until about 2.30pm (in November) and there is a play area for children. Lots of geese and ducks hope to be fed. The circular walk around the lake will be achievable for most and wheelchair users will be able to get around it too.

Great free park, with outdoor play area for children. A decent walk around the lake but not too far. Plenty of wildlife and fishing spots for enthusiasts. Small cafe and toilets. Accessible parking for Blue badge holders.

Great here for cycling and walking, plenty of intertwining tracks to wander around on, including the old colliery area. Very peaceful setting and a multitude of routes to take in different directions like the Chesterfield canal, Clowne Greenway to see Creswell crag's, Rother valley country park etc all off-road along Trans Pennine trail and old railway lines.

Ideal walk around main ponds for disabled as most of paths are flat, just dont venture into the nature reserve as it can be boggy and quite uneven. Cafe when open is ok for drinks but check the menue prices for food as can be expensive compared to other country parks I visit.
