Genuinely impressed with this place. Visted on Sunday 21st December and was greeted by the friendliest and most accomodating staff. Lovely venue with screens gor sports or quiet areas to avoid the sports if that's your thing. Great, affordable food, table service and a lovely pub.
Really busy place . Not for me unfortunately. Bar staff seem over worked and in a rush serving a poor pint . Lots better places in Liverpool
We ordered Sunday roast here, although it was after 6pm. I think the food had been lying all day probably the worst meal I've ever been served potatoes were hard , veg dried up the beef we couldn't cut and Yorkshire pudding black and solid. I very rarely complain but we did, we were offered another meal but declined. We sat for almost 20 mins no one came near we went to bar and asked to see manager. Youg lady said she was supervisor and after about another 10 min we were eventually re-embursed, very bad service.
Visiting Liverpool for the first time and was craving a ‘Sunday roast beef’ dinner. Found this place on google maps and it is very close to the Holiday Inn that we are staying at. We were not disappointed. £13.00 for dinner and 2 sodas came out to £32.00. They asked for payment in advance so be prepared (cash or credit). Laura did a fabulous job and was very attentive. All the staff was. Laura was friendly and listened to our stories. Hopefully she was entertained! The only complaint was that the music was too loud for us.
Worst service I've ever had. Ordered drinks inside and sat outside. I even asked if that was okay, and it was. Nevertheless, after 10 minutes we had to leave because they were closing outside. Worst part was that my brother was not allowed to use the toilet because he had sandals, despite having bought drinks at the place. So its okay to buy drinks, but you can't use the toilet? Outrageous of you ask me. 1/10, definitely would not recommend.
Quite possibily the only Irish pub in the world were you turn invisible while standing at the bar. Nice bright, open space inside though.
Turned off the Everton-arsenal game with 10 minutes to go for some btec sport when they have numerous tv’s. You’re a bar in Liverpool showing a team based in Liverpool play. Who tf cares about some random dossy internationals. Awful standards not even to split screens. Don’t go.
Warning to all. Was watching Everton v Arsenal game today at mc cooleys. Having just ordered more drinks with ten minutes of game to go was alarmed when the screen I was watching changed to a rugby match thought it must be a mistake but noticed all had changed to rugby. I went up to the bar and asked for the manager. Asked what was going on she said it was the rugby four nations or something and mccoolies was an Irish bar ? So that was fine apparently ? Said to her mccoolies was a liverpool bar in liverpool. No apologies. Disgraceful attitude very rude and disrespectful and told her this would never happen if liverpool fc we’re playing. So all evertonians please take note not to visit this place in future! Find a place that is respectful and spend your money there
Spacious bar with friendly staff. Good prices for drinks. Nice relaxed vibe. Will return here.
