We received superb service from Neil and his colleagues. Great location; good range of drinks and food. Our party of 3 all had Scouse, which was an excellent choice and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.

Full Disclosure: The Welsgord Bistro is located in my favourite building in the World, Liverpool Cathedral, and my other half works there. However, catering at the Cathedral over the last 25 years has been more than a bit hit and miss until Neal and team took over a few years ago. Boy what a difference. Instead of "grabbing a sandwich" because it's there and there aren't many places nearby anyway, now there is quite a bit of competition, but whether you fancy their award winning Scouse, a set you up for the day breakfast, their amazing selection of hot meals, freshly toasted sandwiches served with a generous and very fresh salad, or their completely indulgent home made cakes, you always know you're in for a treat. The chef team are Michelin trained, and if your very fortunate, keep your eyes peeled for one of their occasional Fine Dinning events held in the Cathedral itself. Definitely to be experienced if you can. Recently one such evening coincided with my husband's birthday, so it was obvious that's where we would go to celebrate. Rather like the V&A museum, you could say that there is a fantastic eatery with a nice, and very large cathedral attached!

Went here with cycle club. It was nice weather so we sat outside. It's also comfy inside. Ordered breakfast tea and eggs portobello, which were lovely. Price average.

A stunning setting. I got a takeaway curried vegetable soup with homemade focaccia. Both delicious but the bread was something special.

What a fantastic little restaurant Bistro in such an architecturally stunning setting of the huge Gothic Liverpool Cathedral. Besides the location and view over the Cathedral gardens the menu is excellent. If you're new to Liverpool you've got to try the Scouse, it's fab and it's a must. Highly recommended.
