   We recently lost a pet cat and the care she was given was second to none. So caring, so professional and she had a very peaceful end. Her care over the last few years was exceptional too. Sad as the occasion was, not only was the cat cared for but mum and dad too. Such a friendly and caring practice. I can only say thank you.

   We took our beloved dog here for treatment, and she tragically died under their care. We believe their handling of the situation was negligent and unforgivable. We trusted them, and they failed us completely.

   I can't recommend Tony and all his team at Barnhouse highly enough. It's almost 20 years since they began caring for our cats, dogs and even some injured wild life we've encountered along the way. Throughout, Tony's consummate professionalism, clinical excellence and depth of experience have worked to find the very best outcome for our greatly loved animals. I am reminded of the time Tony performed life saving surgery on our cat who had been run over by a car and suffered critical injuries including a broken pelvis. Thanks to his efforts she went on to live another twelve years. Even when the prognosis was not so good we were always made aware of the dangers as early as possible and kept fully informed of the best options for our animal's well-being so that we could make informed choices when it mattered.

   Barnhouse is a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable independent vets! Special call-out and appreciation to the receptionist that went out of her way to help me today with alternative medicine for my cat (who is far too smart for her own good!). Also, the veterinary nurse working today and yesterday (sorry didn’t get her name) has exemplary customer service skills and personality to match! Would highly recommend Barnhouse vets.

   I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter. She came to visit, upset after the vets, when she had taken her dog into the vets for her annual check up. My daughter has been a client for over a decade and has always taken her dogs and other animals there. She mentioned how Tony was a fantastic and caring vet. This time she had taken her 12 year old dog to see a female vet and was told at the end, "mum doesn't look after you, I can tell that" after her examination. Her twelve year old dog was given a full clean bill of health and vaccinated. My daughter thought it was an odd remark, as the vet didn't mention anything wrong. My daughter's dog gets the best treatment and she even pays for vitamins and joint supplements, along with specialised food and health insurance. She couldn't believe that she said that comment and made her feel bad. We've looked at other reviews and can see others commenting on this particular vet. My daughter will now only go to Tony or, leave the practice after all of this time. That vet needs to learn social skills- they are clearly lacking.

   Tony and the team have provided excellent care to our two labradors for over13 years along with sound advice and reassurance for us humans as concerned owners when our pets are not feeling their best. To know they're in good hands means everything and we would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good vet.
