   AVOID AVOID AVOID I purchased a 9ct white gold necklace, with diamond pendant from Goldsmiths (parent company Watches of Switzerland group) for my daughter's birthday. I purchased the item on Oct 2nd, for my daughter's 30th on October 30th, less then 24hrs later the necklace chain had broken (Oct 31st). I purchased this from the Milton Keynes branch, my daughter lives in Warrington and returned the necklace to the Warrington branch the same day (31st Oct). They suggested paying to repair the necklace that couldn't last 1 single day without breaking, they kept hold of the necklace for a couple of weeks, sending it to their 'Quality Control Dept' and my daughter received an email on Nov 17th, stating the necklace is damaged in several places and we must pay for a replacement! (obviously keeping the necklace this long, means it has gone past our 30 days consumer rights for a refund). Shockingly poor quality goods, I would avoid buying their own brand for your loved ones this Christmas and go elsewhere. Basically Goldsmiths staff believe a £450 necklace should NOT last longer than 24hrs.

   Goldsmiths is a decent shop with a nice selection of jewellery and watches. Staff are generally helpful and the quality is good. Prices can be on the higher side, but overall it’s a reliable place to shop for something special.

   Well, I for one, couldn't fault the exemplary service and communication that I received from Ana, a very polite and respectful young lady, who couldn't do enough to help me with my purchase. From entering the store to final collection day, the service that I received was seamless and professional, something that is severely lacking in most customer facing roles I have experienced of late. I suspect that this young lady would give everyone the same high level of service, irrespective of the customer's budget. Well done Ana, you are a credit to the younger generation and to Goldsmiths.

   I took my eternity ring into Goldsmiths for repair, the ring is very special to me as it was the last birthday present my husband bought me before he died in May 2020.    Visited store to enquire about a watch and possible second choice, neither of which were in stock. Georgia was extremely helpful; she ordered these, contacted me as soon as they arrived, (within a couple of days), and made an appointment to go back to store to see them.
