It's Halloween night. Kitchen unexpectedly shut at the soft play we had just escaped from, so we popped in here with our toddler for a quick bite and a wee sit-down. A couple of burgers, chips, nothing dramatic. Asked politely if we could eat in. The young lass at the counter stiffened up like someone had unplugged her, face going paler than the tiny ghosts that had been haunting our doorstep earlier. She said absolutely nothing to us, not even a 'Hold on, I'll check.' Then sshe drifted toward her manager like a Victorian child spirit who has already seen too much misery in this life and the next. Her reply was bitter, sharp, delivered in a tone colder than a January morning. "Naw. No sittin' in. Am too busy fae that." She spat. No smile. No “sorry folks.” No basic courtesy. Just pure frost. I have worked in high-volume spots in NYC on New Year’s Eve with half the staff and twice the chaos, and even there I always managed something along the lines of, “We’re slammed just now, so eat-ins closed, really sorry." It's not the answer, it's the attitude. A simple bit of human warmth would have gone a long way. Instead, it felt like we had wandered in covered in bin juice rather than as friendly locals. We left feeling unwelcome and frankly baffled. Glasgow is famous for it's hospitality and this place clearly did not get the memo. I really don't normally write negative reviews - check out my past several years history. But this is warranted. Won't be back, not even on a quiet day.

First time I've been in here for a while, as wasn't very impressed with the food previously, however the chips, steak pie and sausages this time round were fresh, tasty and yummy!

I am actually livid. Over £6 I paid for a cold slice of greasy fish. My buttered roll ( which was not even buttered) was actually half a roll on the bottom. My husband had to rip off the batter from his cold black pudding. He actually banged it off worktop and it sounded (and tasted) like plywood. It honestly was inedible and disgusting!! Shameful how you think you can charge these prices and think it's ok to serve this to customers. I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. £14 spent and straight in the bin. A disgrace!

Very disappointed with food the sausage was swimming in grease as if fat wasn't hot enough when it was cooked. Pretty small portions for money they are charging. Won't be going back

Haven't been in ages. The last couple of times I had a full breakfast, the sausage, black pudding and potato scones where getting thinner and thinner. The very last time I visited,I broke one of my teeth crowns on a cremated square sausage that was super thin but rock hard at the same time.

Fish supper last time, Chicken supper this time. Food quality was great, however the size of the portion of the chips was poor both times. With prices as high as they are, you really shouldn't be scrimping on chips!

Disgusting service. I went in during my lunch break and didn’t realise I had ordered from the ‘take away’ counter. I sat down to eat my chips, then I was approached by a staff member who told me it cost more to dine in. I offered to pay the extra money, but she said it was ok! Then another staff member shouted over at me and told me I wasn’t allowed to sit there and that I had to go outside. The diner was empty with only one other customer in the whole place. So unfriendly and unnecessary for the sake of a £1 or 2! Laughable

Disgraceful service tonight.totally disgusted with the lack of customer service. Order lay for over 3hours as I had clicked the wrong time for pick up. No follow up to ask if coming for order lay on a counter getting cold. Happy to take the 20.85 no offer of a fresh order or money back. Staff who scream to their colleagues for advice whilst you are on the other end of the phone . Say you hung up on them when in fact you are still on the phone and can hear everything they are saying about you. Poor show Dani dinners won’t be back and will make sure everyone hears about you bad customer service and unprofessional staff

Working up in the area, Called in today to try this place out. What a find this place is, friendly welcoming staff and a really decent atmosphere. I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese and can honestly say it was better than I have had in some restaurants back home, it was absolutely perfect, even came with a little pot of parmesan to go on top. Will definitely be back to sample more food in the future. Gutted I didn't get a picture of the food (although I believe my pal I was with may have managed to get on of my dish once I had started) will try remember next time
