Nice place, lovely food. As an Italian, I was expecting better. Also the waiters were so late bringing stuff and kept repeating they had a lot to do, which I understand, but the restaurant wasn’t even half full :(

The carbonara pasta was absolutely wonderful and truly Italian — easily the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately, the pizza was a big disappointment and completely overshadowed what could have been a great dinner. We ordered a Diavola pizza and asked for no fresh chillies on half of it. Instead, we received a pizza where one half had only cheese and tomato sauce, and the other half was missing both the fresh chillies and the ’nduja altogether. I spoke to the staff to explain that this was not what we had ordered. We were asked whether we would like a new pizza or the missing ingredients added. However, the situation was not resolved properly. On the half with only cheese and sauce, the chef added some mushrooms — and that was all. The other half was still missing key ingredients ('nduja and chillies). To make matters worse, during our meal the staff approached our table twice to ask if we really had a reservation and under which name, which felt very inappropriate. We were also asked whether we live in Edinburgh. When I answered that we do not, the response was simply: “Okay, bye, bye.” Despite the excellent carbonara, our evening was ruined by the pizza issue and the unprofessional behaviour of the staff. Sadly, this left us with a very negative overall impression.

Came here with my mom for dinner, and we were blown away! The food was incredible—some of the best Italian we’ve ever had—and the service made the whole experience even better. One certain gentleman, in particular, was so kind and welcoming, it felt like we were dining with family. Our meals arrived quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough!

If you are looking for the closest thing to tasting fresh pasta while sitting in a restaurant in Venice- this is it! We have tried a number of Italian joints across the globe and this is as close to sitting in Italy as you can get. From the caprese and vegetable soup (soup of the day) as a starter, to the carbonara or ragu for mains, down to the pistachio cakes and tiramisu- you can do no wrong for anything on the menu. It’s a family owned restaurant and you can tell the pride they take with every meal. Make a reservation to avoid being turned away (we got lucky when a last minute table opened up- even waiting 15min outside). It’s worth the entire wait. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely butchered my steak. If you ask for a steak to be cooked blue and it comes out well done, you know they don't understand how to grill meat. Highly disappointing. Service not so great either, got seated waited to get any service despite it not being busy. Had to request some tap water on 4 occasions before finally getting a glass. Quite disappointing and don't understand why it's got any good reviews

Went here today for lunch and enjoyed the food very much. The waitress was very attentive and polite and always had a smile. The surroundings are very low key and pleasant and it was clear that there was a good atmosphere among the patrons who by the looks of things also enjoyed their food? This is a very good Italian restaurant in the city of Edinburgh, the drinks and wine menu was extensive and at reasonable prices. My only negative would be the gents toilets were a little below par with waste bins full of used hand towels and no had dryer. I would still recommend this restaurant as the food was really excellent

This was some of the best Italian food we have ever had. On the recommendation of another diner we had the eggplant parmigiana and the day's ravioli. Started with the bruschetta which was flat bread heaped with sweet cherry tomatoes. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was airy and handled sound well. The front of the restaurant was floor to ceiling windows so the restaurant was light. If this wasn't our last day in Edinburgh we would be back tomorrow.
