A small hidden gem in Glasgow that I want to highlight is Ramen Dayo. I visited the restaurant on Ashton Lane, which has limited seating, so I highly recommend reserving a table in advance. Starting with the drinks, the grape soda wasnโt available, so I tried the melon soda instead, and it was really good. For snacks, I had the chilli and garlic edamame, which was tasty and came in a good portion. As for sides, the takoyaki was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. I would strongly suggest waiting 1โ2 minutes before eating it, as the inside is piping hot and the staff donโt give a warning about this. For the ramen, I tried the Tonkotsu. The pork broth was well-balanced and flavourful, paired with chashu pork belly, kikurage mushrooms, spring onions, and nori. Itโs definitely a must-try ramen, and donโt forget to add the Aji-tama soft-boiled egg. For dessert, I tried their matcha green tea and black sesame ice cream. The matcha was okay, but the black sesame was absolutely delicious and definitely a must-try. The service was fast and welcoming. However, I would have appreciated being asked, โHow was your meal? Did you enjoy it?โ rather than simply being asked, โAre you finished with your meal?โ

I recently visited Ramen Dayo on my own and had the best experience. The venue itself is in a prime location - Ashton Lane - meaning it was super cosy with the fiery lights outside. The restaurant is very cool with quirky decor yet it felt like I was at home eating due to how comfortable and warm it was. The menu had lots of choice and the food was very comforting. I chose a salmon rice bowl and pumpkin croquettes. Both dishes arrived quickly, were big portions and presented very well. They tasted both fresh and delicious with tons of flavour so I was not disappointed. However, next time Iโd definitely try the Ramen. The only slight negative was that bookings are for an hours slot so I felt slightly rushed trying to finish my huge meal and pay in time - I think the slots should be at least 1 hour 15 minimum. I had no time for dessert of coffee and definitely wouldnโt have had time to order a starter either. Despite this tiny issue, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would go back in a heartbeat. Itโs clearly a very popular place to eat as it was busy, even on a week day. Itโs a fab place to visit with friends or to dine alone and the staff made me feel very welcome - thank you!

Food was quite good but understaffed and hard to get server's attention. It was also very cold inside with the door open and poor insulation. Decorations and vibe is cool with lots of nice touches.

curry was great , miso was okay, too garlicky which i never thought id ever say , weird to me its an extra 2 pounds for the egg when every other ramen shop ive been too ( which is a lot ) includes it. price feels a bit steep for what you get . pork was a bit fatty for my tastes .

Highly recommend! Everything from the starters to the mains was absolutely deliciousโeasily a 10/10. The food arrived quickly, the staff were kind and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. One small suggestion: considering the rich flavors of the food and the overall decor, the background music didnโt quite match the atmosphere. Itโs not a major issue, but having music that complements the vibe would enhance the experience even more. Looking forward to visiting again!

The waitress is so lovely and chatty and the food is incredible. I always come here whenever I need something warm and comforting. The broth can be catered for vegans and vegetarians so definitely a bonus plus for me. For ramen, I recommend the devil, itโs not super spicy but does have a kick to it. If youโre looking for rice dishes, their prawn katsu curry is really good as well.

Authentic Japanese Ramen in the West-end. The atmosphere almost tricks you into believing you are in an alleyway of Japan. The broths are cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the pork is crunchy and soft. It is almost unreal to get such good quality ramen outside of Japan. A little more focus on the low-level details, such as better tables downstairs, better bamboo and more authentic condiments, could easily result in a recommendation from Michelin. Keep up the standards. Note: I visited twice, and the quality didn't drop. Highly recommend visiting Ramen Dayo. Don't forget to book ahead if you want to participate in the realm of the Japanese environment. Otherwise, you can find somewhat comfortable tables at Ashton Lane too.

Went here for dinner after my business meeting. I ordered the famous chicken katsu and this is my favourite as well. The food did not disappoint me, price is okey for the amount of food given the recent inflation. You need to ensure that you booked a table as this place get booked up everyday as I went without booking the next day and I was told that the waiting time is half an hour. The location is good and the japanese ambiance is great!

This place is a true gem! Its small indeed with only 6 tables or so but that makes it so much more special! It felt cozy and intimate, tables are perfect for 4-5 people max, all in all an authentic experience and the food was fantastic! Everyone at our table agreed :) Tantanmen was out of this world and Takoyaki also deserves to be mentioned as it was definitely a highlight: dough balls filled with pieces of octopus, topped with sauce and bonito flakes.. so good! Really good food and nice fusion cocktails. Free parking available nearby!

Straightforward menu of ramen or don (rice bowls) with interesting side dishes/appetisers. Loving the drinks menu of some interesting Japanese inspired cocktails. Nice interior and well decorated with cozy vibes but very limited seating and quite cramped. Difficult for large groups, should book prior to visiting.
