   Reading that this is the oldest Italian in Bristol, I braved the rain and found my way there, it's located up the market steps, opposite Revolutions. I opted for the bruschetta pomodoro and the spaghetti bolognaise, the bruschetta was lovely, tomotoes full of flavour, it was lovely, warm and comforting. The Bolognese was nice, a simple bolognese, a touch lacking in depth of flavour but still nice to eat, I was hoping for more but alas it wasn't to be.

   After a difficult start (we asked to change table as the one that they directed us to was on a room with a large, noisy group - the request was not immediately granted but in the end we were seated as we suggested near the door and then things started looking up). Really good Italian cuisine but also lovely fish dishes , great service, we did not have to wait long between courses, nice wine list by the glass or bottle. This independent (non-chain) restaurant feels a bit like an institution an a city with lots of « new trendy » places which will probably not last a couple of years.

   Nice quiet Italian restaurant near the centre. Food was amazing. It was probably the best swordfish dish (as daily special) I have ever had — fresh taste of fish was kept, mixed with suitable flavour of tomato. The side mushrooms were also delicious. Enjoyed every second! A bit expensive though, but never mind as you would have such an experience. Added: I went another time and tried the monkfish, which is another daily special and is also good, although I like the swordfish better. The side potato is perfectly salted, and the Crème Brûlée is very creamy. Added again: One of the best Carbonara I’ve had outside Italy. The starter garlic bread with tomato sauce (basically Margarita) is already a meal portion, and it is very tasty.

   Giuseppe's is such a good restaurant. Every time we go it's good. It's homely and welcoming and has a good buzz about it. Staff are friendly and helpful and very attentive to our 4-year-old. The food is great. Lovely pasta dishes, good Pizzas, nice chicken etc., but also a great selection of seafood. The night we went there were clams, lobster and Sardines on the menu. Good selection of wine and desserts too. It's one of our favourite places to eat in the city centre.

   We stopped by without a reservation, but we were able to get a table for 8:30. The appetisers were great. My scallops were fabulous and my husband had avocado with gorgonzola sauce. Really nice.

   Walking it, it was like being transported to an eatery in Bologna Italy. Decor, staff, aromas and menu all to Italian perfection. The starter choices were many (and authentic, we had the courgettes and the sardines. Both received the two thumbs up rating. The pasta courses we chose were Gluten Free Bolognese (the rotinis grabbed just the right amount of the sauce) . The Cannelloni special had just the right amount of filling. The real stars of the show were the staff; engaging, humourous, knowledgeable. I would book in advance on weekends

   Wow oh wow! We stumbled upon this place by pure chance. I’ve really missed being able to dine in places such as this. You really get an authentic feel here. The staff squeezed us in and treated us like royalty. I’ve never had my dinner ordered and delivered to the table within a matter of minutes, boiling hot and obviously fresh. The portions were plenty and tasted absolutely incredible. This is the type of place that if I lived in Bristol then I’d visit a number of times a week. They really make you feel like part of the family and, on top of that, they create an environment where everyone is happy to speak to each other (customers included)! We met a number of lovely people in there and exchanged brief life stories. I can’t say I’m usually the type of person that would want to do that, but honestly this place made me want to. I couldn’t recommend them more. Perfect for any type of occasion, whatever it is they’ll make you feel special.

   Authentic Italian food at a very reasonable price. Food tastes very homely and fresh! Lovely atmosphere and friendly waiters. Highly recommended for gatherings with friends/family and definitely a good place for romantic date nights. Just remember to book in advance!
