Came here to celebrate my partners birthday, and it was a fantastic experience. Service was very positive & welcoming, we were seated quickly; but we did book ahead, which i'd recommend as it was busy even on a weekday. Although the time for the food to reach the table was a little long it didn’t feel ridiculous and considering how busy it was I could understand why. The quality of food was top notch and we were not disappointed by the presentation, taste & feel of all the food & drink we had. My partner even got a free Brownie for his birthday which was a lovely surprise :). Overall it can be pricy, expect to spend £50+ per person if you want to fully experience all the lovely dishes, drinks & sushi they have to offer.

Lovely, delivious food and athmosphere. Had the best warm salad with pak choi, tenderstem broccoli and pan-fried oyster mushrooms in sesame dressing. I also had a great black pork katsu. If I am ever back to Bristol, I will definitely visit again.

Lovely place to eat Japanese food in Bristol. The sushi mix platter was very tasty and fresh. My chirashi sushi had lots of toppings and ingredients. I would have prefers the the rice to be cool rather than warm.

Honestly my new favourite restaurant! Came here for a nice meal out and I am still dreaming about the volcano roll!! The visit and food was beyond my expectations and for what it is, it’s worth the price. Loved all the food we had !! Drinks were lovely too- I loved the Yuyake. Think I would only want the music to be turned down a bit as sometimes it was hard to hear each other when the restaurant also got busier!

Kibou great take on Japanese cuisine in Clifton Bristol. Portion size here is slightly bigger than most restaurants of this type & the food was fresh tasting with it also being very well presented. Maybe we arrived early but we were put upstairs which seemed to be away from the main bar?? I don't know maybe diner's go upstairs? Service was great really but a little quick to remove plates literally as soon as we'd finished any course. Still 100% recommend

The service is nice and polite, with the default 12.5% charge I assume that’s normal. Food wise, we ordered some sushi roll and salmon, not particularly surprised with the quality. Salmon especially could be more fresh and oily. The children menu didn’t come with dessert and drink needed extra price which is a demerit On the positive side, the renovation is impressive. From outside to insider they put fake tree with Japanese culture element

Fabulous meal! Took our uni student daughter out for a treat, it was her choice. My introduction to Japanese food, it was amazing, the best meal out I've had in years. Excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service. I will definitely be going back

The food and drinks were tasty. However, we had failed to make a reservation and the female manager told us we couldn't dine there. My partner was charming enough to convinced her to let us eat at the bar. I was a bit disturbed since down stairs had ample seating ...and as persons left , she failed to check on us to offer us a table. The service can obviously be better.

We went here for a birthday and had an absolutely amazing time. In my opinion the sushi was top class and all the sides were delicious. They had my favourite wine from Argentina, and the whisky tasting was pretty decent. Their crab was nice, the pumpkin croquettes were lush, the aubergine was absolutely AMAZING!

Finally managed to get a reservation here, and wow it did not disappoint! All of the dishes were ordered were delicious, particularly the volcano roll - I think it might even be one of the best pieces of sushi I've ever tasted! Cocktails were fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Staff were super helpful and were constantly checking in to make sure everything was okay. I also felt the pricing was extremely reasonable considering the quality of both food and service. Would love to return again as soon as possible.
