Pizza was mince. It came burnt, cold and sloppy. The ingredients were cheap and processed. Would not recommend
Last night, Friday 8th August 2025, I brought a bus load of gig goers, I was feeling pretty hungry,.so I found this place, I ordered the donner kebab, the young lad behind the counter was extremely polite, Aaron I think his name was, we got chatting after he noticed my Geordie accent. He asked if I had a kebab from Edinburgh, and I said no, Aaron said, I'll make you one , you'll never forget, boy was he right!!!!!! Everything was fresh, the chilli sauce was something I'd never seen or tasted before, and unless I'm back in Edinburgh, I don't think i will, it was absolutely beautiful, more like a liquid type sauce, but wow!!! We are LOYAL customers of this establishment. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and was sent 1 tub of garlic sauce NOT Caesar dressing. Phoned the discuss this with them in a kind friendly manner and was met with nothing but ‘that’s how we do it’ and no rectification. Shocking and disgusting for people who often buy from here.
One of the Worst Takeaways I've Had I recently tried Ali’s Takeaway and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered the Donner Wrap, which cost £7.60 — a pretty hefty price for a takeaway. To my surprise, they also asked for an additional 50p charge if I paid by card. I’ve never encountered an extra charge for card payments at any other place, which felt a bit unnecessary and frustrating. When I finally got the wrap, I was really let down by the quality. It was incredibly bland with no real flavor or seasoning. For the price, I expected much more. The meat was dry and lacking in the typical spices that make a donner wrap delicious. The wrap itself wasn’t anything special either, and it felt like it had been thrown together with no care or thought for presentation or taste. Overall, I didn’t feel like the food was worth the money, and the additional card charge left a bad taste. The experience was underwhelming, and I honestly won’t be returning. I’d recommend skipping this place and trying other takeaway spots in the area that actually value their customers and offer decent, flavorful food without the hidden fees.
I was a bit disappointed with the chicken pakora calzone. It was like mush and no crunch. If they deep fried the pakora first, cut it up then slapped it on the pizza and folded to be put in the oven. Im sure it would have tasted better. I ate most of it because i was hungry.
I ordered a large donor kebab which was £8 pounds i had to ask as all the prices were covered in black tape to hide the prices. .when I got home I realised that I had been twisted out of 50p the man in front of me only ordered a small pizza when he said that he did there wad an argument over the money.the owner clearly wasn't happy that he was not getting the money the man infont of me did not pay the extra and just got a sigh.that he didn't get his extra few quid. He must twist a few customers a night that they get away with be warned (twisters) look out for the price list covered in black tape so the can make them up as they go i had to ask as it wasn't on show like any other takeaway. And getting short changed the man in front of me said he did not order the big pizza n he was not happy I wasn't going to go back for 50p as it would have been more trouble than 50p was worth look out for the black taped hidden prices so they can make up there own prices and been short changed never again twisters the shop is obviously struggling. I asked for a shesh lamb kebab but wouldn't sell me it as I was not spending enough money never again hidden price list short changed and an argument if you question them pure twisters the cross has gone down hill fast I have the other chippy to try as the Chinese is poor also. but blacked out price list short change and an argument from a take away give Turkish a bad name best take away I have found is bordom at the silver Wing be warned about these twisters blanked price list short changed and an argument for your trouble I get times are tough but were in the same boat.BLACKED OUT PRICE LIST SHORT CHANGE AND PROBABLY A FIGHT but not all Turkish are like this scammers look for yourself.
One of their "fine drivers" just insulted me in front of my family, on 30/10/22 around 17:30, as I was waiting to park my car on the street coming from a junction but he just stopped in the place where I normally park as he wanted to use the junction to turn his car. He shouted at me that I'm a "reject", just for waiting to park my car. If this is the type of staff this place hires, then better go and eat somewhere else. Horrible experience!
Food and pricing are fine, not really any complaints there, though I am not a fan of the Chips coming in a Styrofoam box, the heat and grease start to melt/meld in to the box which makes it unappealing to eat. But as I said, food and pricing is for sure fine. I would only really recommend ordering from them if you are local and pick-up or through the JustEat app. I say this as it has been proven by myself over various visits that they do not look at the print-out they receive on an order. To start, the orders when done via their app and website are normally pretty late, why I mentioned that you're safer ordering over JustEat. But more to my main point, the service you receive is lacking. Orders have been wrong, and when I call various times (after getting hung up on) to get compensation for the mistake, I am asked when I can pick up again (When I order delivery) and then am told I can get what I was supposed to have for free the next time I order, I leave a note on the print-out order, never did receive my compensation, this was over a few orders. And, what compelled me to write this review today, I placed an order for pick-up and had the time labelled for an 8pm collection (an hour and a bits time from now, as I wanted to walk to grab it). I arrive at 7:30, half an hour early, and am greeted with a (once he knew who I was): "You're late for order." When I then informed the dude behind the counter that I ordered for a 8pm pick-up, I was met with a small okay and not even a look at the ticket. My Mrs enjoys the food she gets, and it is fine for sure, but I sadly won't be returning as the service is just not up to par and that is a shame, if I hear good news about the service down the line I may return.
The taste of pizza and garlic bread has been changed recently in few months. I thought it may be one time issue but have 3 orders recently and all were not great so changing from 5 star to 3 Also see the garlic bread ordered today 25th Feb. Its burnt and still given for take away. Thought to return but my kid is hungry and we had few pieces and binned it
