   This place has re-opened and now has a decent service and menu. The guy behind the counter is helpful and emphasizes on making everything fresh. We had poori, Chana and Halwa, Chole batore n Chicken pakoda and steaming hot tea. Apart from chicken pakora everything was fresh and tasty. Pakoda was dry and the batter layer was thick. The tea was very good and Chana and Halwa were decent. Overall damage was GBP 20. They should work on the aesthetics of their shop and it's really not a fancy place for bigger groups.

   #youtubechef, avoid at all Cost. Who put a cucumber in papdi chaat. (£5.95) you charged for this mix of dried papdi. Missing papdi. Missing yogurt Missing green chutney Adding only tamarind chutney with salad it’s not a chaat papdi. How it’s Indian Punjabi or Pakistani food. #complety rubbish

   Good addition to Edinburgh's early morning breakfast. Desi breakfast best of luck guys doing a good job. Good place to vist for breakfast lunch and dinner open 9am to 9pm.

   In general we have always had good experiences with Desi Dera, the food is delicious and abundant, but last night (the 10th time we have ordered!) our rice came with A HUGE KITCHEN HOOK INSIDE OF THE RICE. It literally must have fallen from a wall and was in our rice! The worst part is that it was made of metal and magnet, and we had microwaved it! I'm so happy our microwave didn't explode because of it, but that is incredibly disgusting and dangerous. The fact that someone could pack a tupperware of rice with a massive metal hook inside and not notice lets you know they're not really paying attention to what they're doing or the cleanliness!

   Food arrived exactly 3 hours after the order was placed (17:35pm on a November Friday). I rang over an hour ago (2 hours after the order was placed) to see what had happened and they said it would be "10 minutes". Slowest delivery I have ever experienced in my life.

   We were looking for a quick bite near our Air BnB and grabbed something here. This quickly became our favorite food so far on this trip and the best Indian food I can remember. I know that's a lot and maybe it was just low expectations or something, but even if it were, it is still very good and a great value. We purchased the curry dinner for 2. And it was plenty for us both to get two meals from it. I was compelled to write this because it is worthy of some praise and checking out.

   Great Food and Service! Thought Id try this takeaway out and purchased a large pizza, lamb curry and mince from these guys today. The quality of the food was really good, there pizza was delicious and they serve in nice big slices!. The lamb curry was top notch as well as the mince, Can't complain. Great service, great food, inexpensive food = happy customer!

   1st time kebabs tasted nice.... 10/10 then wow absolute 360 didn't even get food... I went in hoping to order Large doner and sheesh kebab.... Hi can I have a LG doner plz and NO!!!! He said machine no working even thou the big round kebab meat was on the pole... Anyway I asked what was available he says curry OK can I have lamb rogan josh but can u plz hold Back with the tomatoes NO!!!!!! Its how it is.... Yeah but all u have to do is try to not put in so much NO!!!!!!! Get out you messing with me go away well gobsmacked didn't come close
