Had the steak pie. The pie was wonderful, full of chunks of steak. However, the veg that came with it was lacking in quantity. If it came with more veg, then yes, worth th £25.

Went for a large group (11) birthday dinner. Had to preorder from a set menu before, which was fine. Good options including a vegan menu with several tasty options. We were a little late due to a taxi issue and main server seemed annoyed and no cocktails or drinks were offered we went straight to serving. For a place that specializes in weddings service was a constant who ordered this or that. They had our names and preordered options could have done name cards or something to make service more efficient. Food was generally good. Portion sizes were inconsistent between items. I had the cod, it was tiny. Atmosphere was as castleish. Overall probably could have had a better meal at a restaurant in Edinburgh without the expense of the taxis, but the goal was to have a special family celebration in a castle. They did not make us feel special. It was fair. Wouldn’t bother with the drive again.

Don't even bother. Can't even take a reservation properly. Phoned and booked the table for afternoon tea twice already. To find out on the day that our reservation is not in their system. Luckily, I phoned both times on the day to check, so at least I saved me myself a trip.... It's still disappointing as we planned our day around this... Staff did not seem to care at all. JOKE. AVOID.

I booked an Afternoon Tea for my mums 70th birthday. Our server was lovely, friendly and polite, even wishing my mum happy birthday as we were seated. She double checked our allergies from our booking form and i realised I hadn't included an allergy to egg. However the Chef was extremely accommodating and ensured my Neice had a delicious selection of sandwiches and sweet treats at very short notice. We will definitely return.
