Really nice decorated place at Xmas. Surroundings are nice too....£3 parking charge. As for the experience...the acoustics inside make it almost impossible to hear anyone at your table if there are more than 5 tables full of people. So loud. Tables were too small. Was in with my wife and 3 girls and struggled to fit everything on the table for the breakfast we had. Food was OK. The pot of tea that came could only be described as warm. Butter portions should be a lot bigger. Prices were what I would have expected at a top restaurant in centre of Edinburgh. 5 drinks and 5 breakfasts shouldn't be anywhere near £82. Think they have to remember this place is in DALKEITH! Loved the 15% service charge to top it off. It's a shame as lovely place and surroundings. Won't be back.

Don't bother, bring your own food and drinks. Unless u don't mind paying £7 50 for a roll. We paid £31 for 4 hot drinks and some cans of juice. Shame as the cafe and shop are in a nice setting. (Shop and staff are lovely).

I am disbelief that a morning roll with ham and cheese is priced at £7.50! and a yum yum was £5!. a sausage roll .. £5! ot was tiny . I do expect to pay more for food from cafes i understand it’s not greggs etc . BUT this is just daylight robbery and there is zero justification in this pricing . Coffee not great. always to foamy and half full. baristas definitely need more training . it’s a shame because it’s such a lovely place to take the dogs a walk and grab a coffee but it’s just not good enough.

We went there on a Thursday, it was a little crowded and the Cafe was full, the pastries, Hot Chocolate and Lattes were good, I'm only deducting a star because it was pricey. The store has some nice Christmas ornaments and other decorations, the Pop Up cards looked interesting. We walked there so didn't have to pay for parking, the walk through the park with fall colors was worth it.

Very good produce but fairly uninterested service. I manage a restaurant business myself and understand how difficult it is to make ends meet especially in the post Brexit/Covid climate, and although the ingredients were good quality, the size of my burger at a price of £18 was personally just not good enough. A patty the size of a meatball, one salad leaf, a small rasher of bacon and a bit of cheese. Farm cafes are renowned for being expensive but yet again, it's a cafe, not a fine dining restaurant.

Beautiful location, service in The Kitchen was excellent. My husband's full Scottish breakfast was really good. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was that my avocado on toast with honey, figs and feta was superb but a very small portion.

Make your own hamper at The Store, Hamporium. What is the Hamporium you ask? Well the very lovely and talented store team at Restoration Yard have created a spectacular in-store hamper display filled to the brim with foodie fayre ready for the festive season ahead – a spectacle that Willy Wonka himself would envy! Restoration Yard is stocked with amazing local, Scottish and independent food and drink producers. Your wee eyes will twinkle with delight, your jaw might even drop at the incredible range of tasty treats in store. The Hamporium has a number of ready made hampers available on their website but you can also make your own bespoke hamper. And this is exactly what I did. It was filled with goodies for a perfect cosy Christmas night in. Red wine, crackers and biscuits for cheese, hot chocolate and stirrers, chutney, cured meats, truffle nuts and mince pies. If you fancy heading in store to select and choose your hamper, Dalkeith Country Park, Restoration Yard is approx 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh City Centre. There is plenty of parking, loads of shopping, a fabulous cafe and The Kitchen, a superb restaurant. Plus a great park to wander around. The grounds and the courtyard outside The Store are dog friendly and there are several small cabins selling hot drinks and treats in the courtyard too.

I'm impressed, what can I say. The range of local high quality products at this shop is amazing. The items are unique from authentic Scottish produce to clothing to Italian pasta, there is something different and special for everyone. I certainly wasn't expecting this shop to be as big and as extensive whilst also being top quality at the same time. The prices are high and reflect appropriately the quality of the items. It deserves 5 stars and I definitely recommend you visit if you are around or looking for that extra special gift.
