Got to say I was pretty disappointed with this set up. Treatment was lovely, staff were amazing but when we went to the relaxation room there was nothing but constant banging. This went on for ages. The hire of bags also, was pretty much disappointing, no word of you pay and only get part of your money back..

Booked a spa day for me and my friend on wowcher for £99 which included 30 mins massage, access to pool, lunch and prosecco also £10 voucher each to use on spa products. When we got there, the receptionist guy just told us to go upstairs, no locker bands given or taking note of food choices for us. We went into the relax seating area to wait to our massage, wasn’t very relaxing when you have the gym next to the spa area all you heard was banging constantly lol, I liked the hot seats when you were in the waiting area. When we got taken for a massage, it wasn’t very welcoming by the 2 massage therapist, booked Swedish massage, now we booked 30 min massage and no pressure was applied felt like a very light rub down and definitely wasn’t 30 mins lucky even 20, was so disappointing. Phones kept going off and stomach rumbling and gym banging next door, it was honestly a joke. Main thing I enjoyed was the pool think the 2 spa passes would have been the best things at this rate. Was not impressed with the service, massage, food was ok and pool was probs the best thing out the all . What else I didn’t like is your having a spa day, but when your having lunch you have to sit in the main reception area, for us it wasn’t busy on a Saturday afternoon but was thinking if the day is busy, no seats at table … where else would you go . Also to top this off after the massage lucky I bloody asked the 2 kind reception ladies / cafe ladies when we was going to get our food / prosecco as we was just gonna head to the spa, lucky I asked as if we went into the spa straight away we would have missed lunch completely as it would have been to late. Just seemed a bit everywhere wasn’t very chilling, next time I’ll just come for the pool :)

Had booked a experience day for around £35, receptionist was lovely when I arrived, this included a mini massage, facial and arm massage which was 10/10 (from valda) every staff member in the spa area was lovely and welcoming and even showed me to the heated loungers to relax on after massage The voucher included £10 towards products and they did not push it on me to buy something which I loved as other places can This site also has a little cafe which you can visit (I didn’t but it was VERY busy) The pool was nice and heated, 2 saunas, steam room was very very steamy haha! Pool was clean and had loungers and 2 bubble hot tubs in good condition Changing room has fab hair dryers free to use! Negatives : The changing room and specifically the showers need a good deep clean and scrub, the doors and floors were pretty dirty - I would take flip flops with you Car park is pot hole city Will definitely buy this voucher again!

My wife and I recently visited Ballantyne's Health Spa for a day out, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spa services, like the massages and the overall facilities. Everything was quite impressive, and we even considered becoming members. However, we were disappointed by the open changing room setup. Despite separate areas for men and women, there was a lack of privacy. We noticed people of all ages walking around naked, and it was uncomfortable, especially when we had young children present. In comparison, our local leisure center offers private cubicles, and we were surprised that such privacy wasn’t available at a higher-end facility like Ballantyne's. In conclusion, while the spa services were top-notch, the lack of privacy in the changing rooms definitely impacted our overall experience. We hope they consider adding private changing options in the future.

Got a September spa offer (£34.50 each for me and my friend) and was really lovely. Hot tub swimming pool and a wee massage which was so relaxing. Would come back again! X

The membership may be a bit more expensive than the average health and fitness club but you see the benefits in the well equipped gym and very nice facilities. The staff are always pleasant and the premises are always kept clean. Would recommend!

Won’t be returning. I booked a 60 minute deep tissue massage. My appointment was for 11:15 (they also ask that you arrive 15 mins prior to appointment). I was still sitting in the waiting room at 11:20. The treatment ended at 12:08 so technically got a 50 minute massage. I also asked her at the beginning to apply a lot of pressure as I have lots of knots and reassured her she wouldn’t hurt me. Unfortunately she did not apply much pressure at all, it was more of a light rub as opposed to deep tissue. She also spent a lot of time rubbing my ankles and scapula. So overall it was a 50 min light bone massage. Staff were friendly. The room was basic enough. No candles lighting. No incense or essential oils.

Went for a Spa Day for 2 with a Virgin Experience voucher. Staff very friendly, nice changing rooms and facilities, great pool with saunas and jacuzzies. Had wonderful treatments from Claire and Amanda and enjoyed the relaxation room afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

Found my experience quite underwhelming in all honesty. Went for spa luxury as a birthday treat, but although the staff were lovely and very professional, the experience wasn't as luxurious as I had anticipated. Much more of a gym than a spa....just seemed to be very sidelined and almost forgotten about. The robes were too small, the sliders were generic and were too small, we weren't asked what size we needed..... I was impressed with the hairdryers and swimsuit dryers available. The pool was clean, the saunas were perfect temperature, the reception staff were lovely, I just think I expected more of a "personal" experience. To be wined and dined so to speak..... I will be back to the pool etc, but think I may miss out the treatments.

This was a very nice experience. I used a voucher from Groupon and it was a very good deal. All the staff were friendly and I came out feeling very relaxed. Perfect as a birthday treat for someone you love.
