Lovely staff, lovely gym with good equipment and the team take good care with hygiene. There is a variety of amazing classes. I have the full membership and it’s worth the money however my one complaint is the amount of school kids taking up the gym from 15:30 onwards, the problem is that they come in groups of 5 or so and so it makes the gym crowded when the gym isn’t even that big. It would be great if the centre could facilitate some rules or policies for to aid this problem. Other than that I love love love this centre

Centre staff are pleasant, fitness class instructors great and facilities inside good. However the swimming is rarely open for general swimming and almost impossible to go if you work 9-5 Monday to Friday. It can be difficult to get a space in the fitness classes. Car parking is difficult and the road outside is chaos at school drop off and pick up times.

Altercation at the aquafit class extremely badly handled by a dark blonde haired lady of the management team at Gracemount. I attended an aquafit class. I had been at the previous class so was in the same place in the pool. An old lady stood right in front of me so I had no room to move. I told her there was not enough space to move about in the aqua class. She replied with a torrent of swear words and, to diffuse the situation, I moved to the deeper part of the pool. I did use one swear word in response which I now regret as it was bringing me down to her gutter level. I was absolutely appalled that a pensioner could come out with such terribly bad language. I am not a strong swimmer and was too out of my depth so left the class early as it was becoming a safety issue. This is not the first time I have had to go out of my depth because of this woman and it is frankly potentially very dangerous. I explained this to the female member of the management team who said if I did not like the situation then not to come to the aquafit classes any more. I think this member o f staff needs to go on some type of training to learn how to deal with issues like this in a much better manner. I have thought long and hard for 3 months before leaving this review. Every other member of staff I have dealt with at Gracemount have been absolutely excellent and the aquafit instructors are excellent. It is a great shame that one member of staff can ruin what is a pleasurable exercise experience. If the review was for Gracemount and the aqua teachers I would have given it 5 stars but this business with this member of the management team has left me with a very bitter experience. This is bullying and harassing behaviour by another customer of the leisure centre and should not be tolerated. I am very disappointed that Gracemount Leisure Centre did nothing significant to address this situation. I am also a member of Lasswade Leisure Centre and the Galleon Club at George Watsons College and this behaviour would not be tolerated by them. The Galleon Club and the Lasswade Centre would certainly not allow their staff to talk so aggressively and condescendingly as this female member of the management team at Gracemount did to me. I have a very stressful job and the aquafit is a great way to de-stress whilst getting fit. You feel great after a good workout and your body produces dopamine which gives you a natural high. I have made some good friends at the aqua classes who agree the behaviour of this woman customer was terrible and completely uncalled for. I would hate to have to give up my aqua classes at Gracemount but there are other providers if this type of situation ever occurs again. Gracemount is ideally situated between my house and my office so using other venues would eat away at my valuable time.

I recently joined this Gym. I mainly use the gym component of this leisure centre. The gym is nice and calm. It can be crowded at times but it is quiet on most occasions.

Went for "lane swimming" as per timetable online. Unfortunately, there were only two lanes available. Staff didn't put lanes after "casual swimming" was over. It was fine but later on it was extremely crowded and uncomfortable. Visited last Sunday. Edinburgh Leisure | Swimming Pool

The receptionist is always friendly and helpful. The wet changing is clean and well set up, especially for bringing kids. My one-year-old loves her swim sessions with Sheila!
