I have never left a Google review before, but this place is so good that I have to. Probably the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! We weren’t sure what to order and asked for recommendations, and the waiters asked about our preferences, explained different options, and helped us pick a dish we hadn’t tried before but absolutely loved. All of our dishes were fantastic - we got Chicken Bhuna, Channa Massalam, and Ginger Saag Dal. The atmosphere was so lovely, the waitstaff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the whole thing felt both comfortable and a little fancy in the best way. This is my new favorite place in Edi and can’t recommend it enough.

Absolutely top place, superb for takeaway too. Nicely out of the city centre so full of locals. Staff at Pataka were super accommodating to us after being let down at a neighbouring restaurant at a very busy time and we can't praise them highly enough. The restaurant is impeccable in standards of service, surroundings and decor with Rennie Mackintosh theme. We had comforting tasty food, excellent waiters and it was great.

Our 2nd visit to Edinburgh and our 2nd visit to this gem of a curry house! My wife had the chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice, whilst I had a hot chicken vindaloo with rice also. Our naans were freshly cooked and piping hot. Staff were attentive, friendly and chatty. When we return to the city, we will definitely be making a point of coming back here, highly recommended.

My wife and I ordered a collection from Pataka the other week. We had heard good things and we weren’t disappointed. The menu is vast but I like how they have recommendations on their website to help you decide. My wife went with the lamb Pasanda and I went with the Royal Murgha which was a recommendation. We got the Pataka Assorted Kebabs to share and boiled rice and a couple of naans. We ordered on the phone which was easy. I went in to collect. I was a little early but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even gave us free poppadoms since it was our first time. I am afraid I can’t give a score for the atmosphere because we didn’t sit in but it seemed nice. The shop is small but nice. The food stayed warm when we got home. All the food was really tasty. Excellent flavours. We really loved the dips that came with the popadoms. My wife’s Pasanda was nice although she did think that the lamb was a little on the dry side but still enjoyable. Next time we would like to sit in because the food is always better that way.

Had Vegetarian meal for two very tasty but choice of dishes could have been better. Food tasted good but then it should. Peice of meal should have been a little cheaper for what we had.

Lovely local Indian restaurant. One of the top 2 Indian restaurants in Edinburgh in my opinion. Freshly cooked food piping hot, melt in the mouth chicken and a very subtle blending of spices. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and took my booking over the phone without hassle. Upon arrival they took our coats to dry and were quick to ask if we wanted to order anything. We ordered a pickle tray and poppadoms and knew we made the right choice as these were all delicious and the mint and yoghurt sauce was homemade. The samosas were also handmade and fresh and delicious. I ordered the Kathmandu chicken and it was bang on. Warmed as I ate it beautifully, the chicken was fresh and perfectly cooked. The naan bread I ordered to accompany it was also phenomenal, no skimping, full of ingredients and fresh. Thank you so much
