Pleasant wait staff but a truly terrible meal. I didn’t know it was possible to have such poor food in every course. My starter was stale & too tough to bite or cut, and the main and dessert felt like they were frozen microwave meals, that were also lukewarm… first time eating here so I don’t know if they were having a off day in the kitchens or what but I really would not recommend eating here to anyone unfortunately :(

I had the most wonderful experience at The Angels Share in Edinburgh. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and looked after by Laura who was absolutely fantastic, attentive, friendly, and made me feel right at home. The food was truly marvellous beautifully presented, full of flavour, and every dish exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal in the heart of the city. Overall, it was a five-star experience, thanks to the combination of excellent service and delicious food. I’ll definitely be returning soon and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

When we visited here, we went for drinks but ended up having the meats and cheeseboard for 2. This was absolutely delicious. Lovely selection of cheeses and worth every penny! They have a nice selection of cocktails and every one we had was very tasty and well made. The staff were all friendly to us and were attentive enough. Surroundings are gorgeous and the place had a nice buzz about it. Would definitely recommend for drinks and picky bits.

We visited for the Sunday roast (3 people in total) and had a sharing roast for 2 and a single Sunday roast portion. After having read reviews the morning of going, I was a little worried but we all really enjoyed our food and thought the portion sizes were good. The roasties were great and not undercooked, the veg was tasty, broccoli on the softer side (which I prefer but if you don’t perhaps ask for it less well cooked) and we felt the amount of meat was spot on. The sharing roast also gets two extra pots of gravy so you can add to your veg and yorkies if you wish. We enjoyed our mains so much that we did order dessert (the crumble and the cranachan) which were both good. We found the staff were lovely and attentive throughout our time there. We were the first table in so had no issues getting anyone’s attention. Do note, and there are signs in the restaurant, that they do charge a 10% service charge on food and a 5% service charge on drinks orders. Whilst I understand that this is also a bar and it will be done this way to capture drinks only orders, I think for people sitting down and having a meal with drinks, there should be a single service charge (not both). I asked for the drinks service charge to be removed (on the basis we had tap water and soft drinks) and this was done with no issue at all.

Super crowded, doesn't help that it's both a bar and a restaurant. To make matters worse, they turn up the music so much that you don't even hear what the person next to you is shouting at you. The staff is quite rude and very inflexible. We could not add a single person to our group reservation, giving a notice a few days in advance. Food wasn't good at all, likely the worst dinner experience I've had in Edinburgh

Ate here today for the first time (family meal) and it was really quite bad so surprised to see mostly good reviews here. Our party of 6 were seated at a table that would comfortably seat 4. Nobody else in the restaurant (bit of an omen) so it was a mystery why we would have to squeeze into this space. There was also a draught / air con situation that we asked about as it was too cold - we were just told there's an issue with them not being able to turn off the air con. Nobody offered to move us. Not ideal in November. Food was basic wetherspoons standard, lukewarm and not great. Various things ordered from starters to sides we were told weren't available, after we'd ordered them. Then we were charged on the bill for some of the items that they didn't have. Waiting staff were pleasant enough but were either unaware of the low standard of the experience we were getting, or didn't care. Tip automatically added to bill which is fortunate for the guys.

Return visit since 2019 booked a table for 2 for 1.30 on a Wednesday relatively quiet but started to fill up when there. Ordered a bottle of wine, fish n chips and the fish Risotto. Staff very friendly. Food delicious and well presented. Bar decor is different beautiful chandeliers and photos of famous people. Really enjoyed our visit highly recommend a visit :) :)

Tasty bar appetisers and really yummy cocktails. Classy decor with tall but intimate booths with a generally comfortable atmosphere.
