What a gem! We ate here two out of three nights, but I wish it had been all three nights. Party of four and we had the shawarma, fish & chips, pizza and sucuk panini. Prices were affordable and everything was delicious. We did not try the wings or burgers but saw them being made and they looked very tasty. The restaurant is unassuming but absolutely worth a trip if you are in Edinburgh. The chef was so kind and friendly. We accidentally ordered something on the morning menu in the evening, but the chef insisted on accommodating us. He went out of his way to serve us and ensure we enjoyed dinner. We really could not have been more pleased with everything and everyone at Chef Bako. I hope we come back to Edinburgh soon so we can come back to eat at Chef Bako again and enjoy this wonderful city.

Chef Bako's is small in stature but big on everything else. Walking in, I'm greeted by a family of three and order the special nachos. I sit at a bench facing a wall and am handed a plastic bowl decorated with flowers and piled high with shawarma, cheese and nachos that smells incredible. I would have licked the bowl clean if not for the other customers as it was perfect in every way. Right spice, full of flavor and more than enough to do me through the night. I can not recommend it enough and they deserve your custom especially considering their prices. 10/10.

Great food & service from a family run business. My family of 8 were on holiday and enjoyed the grilled meats a lot, especially the chicken wings. Highly recommend.

Small dinner, but lots on menu, low prices and delicious food. Chef was really nice and kind. They offer many kinds of burgers, pizzas, kebabs and more. All fresh and really good and big portions.

Newly opened place. Went to get take out today and had one of the best experiences. I had a fish sandwich i can surely say it’s better than the ones I’ve had before. Also the staff are amazing, they were very friendly. One last great thing was the pricing you get your moneys worth. I am truly impressed and would sure be going back.
