   We choose the restaurant by the menu. A women was looking also at the menu and said“ what a pity I would like to eat the deer again, it was so good!“ we went in and luck was on our site(Friday evening), we got a table and we choose the red deer. It was a dream, the best deer I had in a long time. I practical licked the plate. The service was so nice and friendly. If I‘m coming back to Edinburgh, I will visit again. Thanks again for this amazing evening.

   I was treated here for my birthday and it was amazing. Got to sit at the window with views to the castle light show. Staff were wonderful, attentive and accommodating particularly Craig who couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. An awesome restaurant experience all round.

   Marius was absolutely brilliant! His service was so attentive and thoughtful — he kept checking in to make sure we were having a lovely time and even changed our plates regularly without us asking. He really made the whole dining experience feel special. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough!

   A group of four of us had lite bites and cocktails here before attending The Military Tattoo, as part of The Drummer tickets. The staff were superb, very welcoming and friendly. The food and cocktails were great. A very relaxing start to the evening, as they even escorted us into the Castle grounds for the performance.

   A restaurant should present more than a wonderful palate, it should be an experience. Cannonball certainly was both. More importantly they make every effort to source everything locally in Scotland, so definitely a plus point for sustainability. The owner gave us a wonderful introduction of her family history and how this restaurant came to be. The staff were absolutely in a different class - on point, efficient, friendly and professional. What an incredible experience. The food was a taste sensation to the mouth. Complex yet simply effective. Certainly worth every penny.

   Great late lunch on New Year’s Eve. Due to the busyness…staff was not as attentive, but that was understandable. We were just glad to get a table. Food was delicious. We had fish and chips and bangers and mash that were done very well. Atmosphere was fun and great location on the Royal Mile in the middle of it all.

   We had our Golden Wedding celebration in this beautiful restaurant at the weekend. It is a truly magical place! The events team supported us brilliantly through all the planning and the restaurant team on the night were superb. The food is outstanding! We could not have asked for more for our milestone event.

   We found this bar while looking for a place to have a quick drink before dinner the week leading to Xmas. It’s slightly tucked away from the busy Royal Mile so we were lucky enough to grab a seat. Overall, the drinks selection was good and the staff was polite and attentive. We didn’t manage to have dinner here as it was overbooked but there were groups of people coming and going. It looks like a really nice restaurant so we will defo try next time we visit Edinburgh.
