Probably the best Chinese I've ever had. Happy meal for me - it works too I'm delighted here! Granny says hi and gives the thumbs up. Friday's don't get much better.
Amazing bbq sauce the best in Edinburgh! Above was my first review now ive ordered today food is awful dried out hard chips, bbq sauce is nasty so are the ribs looking grey and really fatty :( beef curry was tasteless. To top it off I tipped delivery driver nearly 4 quid extra after taking it he then said he'd given another customer two cokes so my order was short of my juice! He gave me 1.50 back do he got a fiver tip for doing a crap job! How can a delivery driver hand over two separate bags of juice to another customer bit weird. Won't be ordering for a long time obviously got a new chef in who isn't upto par and a rubbish not to mention greedy delivery driver.
I've been ordering takeaway here regularly for 3 years and we always order the same thing, crispy shredded beef with peking sauce. But on Sunday there was a mistake with our order. I called back and told the lady but she kept insisting it wasnt her fault; "we dont do it with peking sauce, only chilli sauce". So I informed her that each time I come here that's what I order and each time the kitchen have kindly obliged, to which she replied, "how would I know, this is my first day". I could see her focus was not on customer service but deflecting blame, so I suggested that a swap would resolve the problem. However she insisted I pay for another one. She was very rude and I couldnt speak without her cutting me off so I drove down to speak to her in person, but the same thing happened. She then proceeded to answer 3 phone calls in the middle of our conversation. Meanwhile the rest of my order was still in the house getting cold. I would also like to point out that the lady confirmed during the order that "the beef would be crispy but then we put the sauce on it" and we spent over £25 on our order so it should have been a swap. But by the time she was done ignoring me I was too hungry to argue and knew my food would be ruined if I didnt get it sorted soon so I agreed to just pay for another one. We usually pay £5.90 but she said it was £6.10, and explained that the prices had increased. Well I wasnt paying that after the way I was treated; the reason we come here is because it's cheap and we are always treated with kindness but now that's gone theres really no reason for us to return. So I googled the nearest chinese and drove to Rice Bowls on Great Junction Street and ordered a crispy shredded beef with PEKING sauce from the lovely gentleman at the desk for £6 and it was even more delicious than the one we used to get here.
I have had food from this takeaway every few months since last year and it was my 5th or 6th times... but very surprisingly, i felt the food today was very awful. I love chinese food but had to dump most of food, particularly deepfried dishes,,,it was my first time to think there are something wrong with the food from this takeaway. I don't know what made the food taste so weird,,,but i assume it's from very old ingredients and burnt oil,,, We spent over 27pounds for 2 persons with many dishes but i could finish only steamed rice(one third) and prawn cracker, which i got for free, All fried food, just coudlnt eat because of disgusting smells,,, Something wrong with this takeaway. They certainly use very old oil (or use the oil too long time,,,),,, we will not go back again. Totally unhealthy food,,,what a waste of money and time of Sunday evening,,,
Just finished eating with the family. It was our first contact with this takeaway. Very friendly and helpful staff! Food? Amazing! Curry sos was great! Beef was melting in my mouth! And the dessert? Mmmmm delicious! Im going to visit them again very soon!
Have to agree with most of the reviews on here....delicious, fresh Chinese food, excellent value for money & very friendly service. So happy to find it on way home last night feeling hungry - now it's my new Chinese. Highly recommend it!
