   Absolutely fantastic. Came for something different with my girlfriend. Seated immediately, staff incredibly polite. Ordered 2 mains and a sharer, and could barely finish. Tasted lovely, and incredibly filling. Definitely going back.

   Great quality delicious food. Fast service, hot fresh dishes of a huge variety. Friendly staff. The rice and noodle bowls are larger than expected but the staff boxed up the food that we couldn’t manage; to take home. Will definitely return. Booking recommended for a Friday night.

   The most amazing food and service. Got the teriyaki chicken bowl and sweet and sour chicken. Large portions for a great price! Food comes out as its ready so was deliciously crispy and piping hot. Option to pay after or pay upfront was handy as we were in a hurry.

   I have collected food from here numerous times and previously it’s been generally great. Tonight however, we ordered the same items as usual and received soggy cold fries and salt and chilli tofu that was easily 1/3 of the size as normal (seen in photo below). For reference, there are normally 6 triangles of tofu that are the size of my palm, but tonight they were as small as an inch wide. We ordered at 8:30 and collected at 8:43, so it was confusing as to why the fries were already cold. Such a shame to have had this experience as this place has been incredible in the past.

   Best place to have a bite now in Galashiels if you're a fan of japanese food. Had takeaway for beef chahan loved it! And sushi is fine to have ...... teriyaki rice bowl and crab were the best! Funny Ramune juice bottle is must try!

   Won't be back. No one told us (first-time customers) we had to order at counter even though we had been sat at table close to counter for about 15 minutes (& no one went up to counter in that time to give us a clue except someone collecting takeaway) yet some people who came in after we ordered were welcomed & told exactly what to do before they'd even sat down. This could have been sorted by something as simple as having a card on the table or a note on the menu. Also nothing on menu explaining what some of the flavours of the sweet offerings on the menu were if you're new to them, which we were. Food, while it looked nice was not a patch on another similar place that we've been to. Came for Japanese food but left feeling like we'd just had a Chinese meal. Yakisoba tasted more like Chinese Chow Mein and the Pork from the white broth ramen was hard and the broth was tasteless. Had this been our first experience of savoury Japanese food we would have probably never tried any more based on this experience.

   So much of a brand new place to eat in Galashiels, that they were still putting the finishing touches to the furniture when we popped in. Based on one visit, I really hope that Okome does good trade. I want it to be available as a choice of eatery for a long time to come. The food I had last night was delicious and unmistakable as Japanese cuisine. Being a completely new place to eat (or take away) the seating area wasn't bustling, but I hope people really make the effort to try Okome.
