Eaten at this Restaurant many times over the years, on this occasion very disappointed. Sunday lunch with frozen cauliflower, broccoli and Yorkshire puddings, eating out at a restaurant is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, this was average not poor but disappointing...

⭐☆☆☆☆ Not Dog Friendly — Very Disappointing If you’re looking for a dog-friendly place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat in Caldicot, I’m afraid you’ll be out of luck. After trying several spots, it quickly became clear that this town is not welcoming to four-legged friends. Both Village Bistro, Gregg’s, and even Caldicot Castle do not allow dogs indoors - which was a real disappointment, especially given how many places elsewhere now happily accommodate well-behaved pets. In short: if you’re hoping for a relaxed coffee or meal with your dog, don’t try here… in fact, don’t try Caldicot full stop. There are far more welcoming options in nearby towns that understand people often travel (and spend!) with their dogs.

Had a lovely lunch here today. Service was friendly and welcoming, food was delicious, tasted fresh and authentic. About to move to the area so will definitely be coming back!

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is always relaxed, professional, and inviting. The food is always fresh and delicious, with the staff being confident and providing accurate allergy information about everything. The meatballs are particularly lovely, and all the pizzas are great quality. If you enjoy a dry Italian red wine, the wines here are a great choice. Compared to some of the Italian restaurants in Chepstow, which are rude and plain tasting, this place stands out and is worth going out of your way for.

Although it was a quiet time when we visited Papi's, we still had a lovely time. The welcome was warm & and friendly, and the service throughout was first class, especially when they found out that we were there to celebrate a birthday. Couldn't fault any of the dishes, all presented nicely and in good time. All amenities as you would expect with hot water and soap plus accessibility for the disabled. Thank you for a great 3 hr experience, and already we have recommended the restaurant to family. I'm absolutely sure that we will be coming back.

My family and I love it here. We’ve been twice and both times the food has been gorgeous and the staff have been fantastic. Staff are super friendly and nothing is ever to much. The kids menu is perfect and the portion sizes are great! My niece is a very picky eater and the restaurant recreated a dish for her which she loved. A fantastic restaurant and we will definitely we back again!

Excellent in all aspects. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Food was superb and excellent value for money. I also really liked the ambiance and feel of the place. We were a large family party and we had an early 6pm booking and even at that time the restaurant was busy which speaks volumes for how popular it is. Definitely worth a visit and will be going back in the near future.

Fantastic hospitality, very clean and welcoming. The choice of Tapas is exceptional, the best I've had. The house wine is good too and so is the Irish coffee. Would definitely recommend this bistro. When I'm in the area again I will be back
