25 of us went for a birthday meal last night and everything was exceptional! The staff were super friendly and attentive whilst the food was phenomenal. Thoroughly recommended!!
My husband and I arrived without booking on Friday evening. We were politely told they were fully booked unless we were happy to have our meal out in the back garden. As it was a lovely evening we were more than happy with that. We had a lovely evening,the food was great, staff friendly. Having our meal in the garden with the fountain and bird song as background instead of others talking made it really special. Would recommend and visit again.
Visited Thai Basil yesterday for the first time in over 20 years - obviously the management has changed in that time but I was delighted to find the food and service were every bit as good as it was all that time ago. There's a peaceful garden at the back and it was lovely to sit on the veranda on a warm evening with the calming sound of the fountain. Thanks to the team and hope to see you again soon!
What an amazing evening. Jen booked this amazing restaurant and gave them the heads up it was my 60th. What exceptional effort went into making my birthday celebrations amazing. My table was scattered with happy birthday confetti. There was a banner across the windows. The food and service were fantastic. And to top it off, I was given a beautiful cake, candles and sung to by Imelda and her team. Just an extraordinary evening in Thornbury at a beautiful Restaurant. Imelda you run a wonderful restaurant . Your staff are a blessing. 100 percent an exceptional evening. Didn’t manage to get photos of the starters but highly recommend the mince pork on the sesame toast, was delicious. Mains were great too, definitely will come back soon. Staff extremely friendly and everyone was so nice to us. Pad Thai was a bit sweet for my taste but nevertheless was really good.
Nice food, no vegan options evident. Service was friendly but slow, tho they were busy. Only 1 choice for alcohol-free beer, have had much nicer (sickly sweet). Would go again tho other venues preferred.
We were called back after trying to book a last minute dinner on NYE. All the food was amazing and we regretted ordering an extra starter with the set menu. It was just too much food! The only issue was being sat by the heater and it was a little warm. All in all a great experience and we will be back.
Fast and friendly service, generous portions of fresh tasty Thai classics at a fair price. Went early evening mid week, was quiet and were served really quickly, ordered too many delicious starters and struggled to eat the generous mains. Highly recommended.
This place had amazing reviews so it was a must to try. There was 6 of us and we went for the set menu option B. The starters were amazing. So hot and the flavours perfect. Next was the mains. Again amazing. The flavours so good. Authentic. Tasty and so much of it. We asked for a little extra chilli and a special chilli oil came out. The flavour of this was amazing like it should be a bottled product. The staff were very friendly. Definitely a hidden gem and I would come here again. Well done.
A very nice Thai place. Decor is very nice inside. Staff are nice and friendly. Menu is vast with all the popular Thai dishes. It can be a little pricey but you are paying for quality. The food I had - Thai fish cakes and pad Thai were both very tasty. Would definitely recommend.
