We found this through Google maps and so happy we did. Lovely little place and food was fantastic, home cooked food. Dog friendly. Staff very helpful in trying to find us somewhere to stay for the evening.

We stopped here on the way further north, due to the reviews. I'm sure we've never had friendlier or more attentive staff. They were welcoming when we arrived, they kept checking that things were fine, and one even ran to the door to thank us for coming, after I thought they were all busy. Excellent. The food was lovely, and I was especially pleased with the apple and cinnamon crumble. The Innis and Gunn IPA was spot on too. They had an accordion player playing a variety of music and he was brilliant. We really enjoyed our visit and will remember it for a long time.

2nd time at applebank tonight, soon was we entered was nice n cosy we were allowed to sit at any table. The girl serving was polite and very friendly, we chose 2 starters chicken nachos and potato skins, my wife got fish with a lemon white sauce and mash potatoes, daighter had cajun chicken and steamed rice and a side of fries, and i had the steak pie, all food was hot and fresh and we couldn't fault it. The nachos are top notch fresh made nachos.

A really lovely, cosy wee place. A classic exposed stone and wooden beam type spot. All of the staff were super friendly and attentive, happily helping with with anything we needed. The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise. It was excellent quality "pub grub", beautifully cooked. We had the classic scampi and chips. The chips, like most things on the menu, were homemade. Homemade beef and ale pie, then finished off with homemade sticky toffee pudding. We were stuffed. The portions were quite large. I can't recommend this wee spot enough, we were delighted.

Lovely food reasonably priced. My only concern is when you go to the car park at the side of the building It's very dark but also there is low roof edge which you could easily catch your face on and the steps are hard to see need to be very careful The lighting is very poor. A serious accident waiting to happen. Otherwise it's a fantastic location friendly staff and will go back again.

Another absolutely gorgeous meal. We had to try the peanut m&m cheese cake and it was immense. Kerry-Anne is a fantastic server. She made sure we all had what we needed. We will be back again. X

This delightful 1700's Inn is considered the most haunted Inn in Scotland. The food is amazing and the service was sensational. Wish we could have eaten here more than once! Try the Haggis appetizer!

Lovely service, very friendly welcome and throughout our meal from Karen. John the chef made one of the best meals I have eaten! Amazing portions. Delicious quality. Decent prices. All of us were stuffed. Can't wait for our next visit!

First time visiting with family and loved the experience. We sat in the corner and told my young son that the black lady ghost would visit him if he didn't eat all his dinner! He never left anything! Brilliant! The atmosphere was lovely a really pretty building, the staff were lovely and polite and service was quick. The food for all concerned was delicious and arrived piping hot. It was so good I only managed pictures of the starter! Would thoroughly recommend. Covid restrictions in place are masks whilst moving about and staff are disinfecting surfaces between customers. There is a small carpark to the rear, we parked at the bottom of the hill and walked it up so gives us a little work out.
