Gorgeous pub for an evening out with friends. The festive menu was delicious and the Malbec went down beautifully. I will be back to visit soon!

Worse time here in a while, young girl serving was too interested in her friends table it took 30 minutes to take our food order after being seated, 30 mins for prawn starter to come out, then another delay for mains. We wanted pudding which i had to approach someone to take my order, when approached he was there on his phone. Asked for horseradish and cranberry sauce for mains which i am still waiting for, never turned up! Then my WARM chocolate brownie turned up rock solid and freezing cold.

The food was good. We had the Sunday roast (x2 beef & x3 veggie Wellington) all well cooked and presented but really could have done with being hotter. For most of our time there was no music which was really nice as we could hear our self talk. The staff could have been a little more cheerful with a few smiles but were polite. There is a good size carpark at the rear of the pub for easy access.

Nice warm and welcoming place. Staff were lovely and helpful. We had the lamb shank and it was beautiful. Lovely and hot and nothing over cooked. The building was warm aswell. Very comfortable outing. The only thing that I would say as a bit of negative is it took a while to be served once sat down, and it wasnt overly busy but apart from that food came out in good time and as said, service was pleasant and with a smile.

My partner and I were staying nearby for the weekend so this pub was convenient to walk to for dinner on the Friday night, and we are so glad we did. I ordered a classic burger with Alabama white BBQ sauce and pulled pork and it is one of the best burgers I’ve had, and at a very reasonable price. My partner also thoroughly enjoyed his steak meal; the only thing that could have been better would be a slightly larger portion of chips. Staff were very friendly and served us quickly.

Had a 2 course Christmas meal here, was lovely and hot, sprouts were a little hard, but meal was enjoyable. However was disappointed with the pudding. Had ordered a fruit crumble, when it came was more like a blob of hot jelly with fruit in, there was no crumble on top. Besides this, staff were very nice and helpful, so would visit again.

Fab dog friendly pub and restaurant, had a delicious meal here. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the village of Tockington is very picturesque. I recommend this pub if you are visiting Bristol.

A wonderful quiet location for an eccentric village pub where time runs entirely at its own pace. You can easily wait an hour for food which took just 5 minutes to come from freezer to plate. First visit required a long wait to order simple coffee which never arrived. The next visit was spent watching other customers getting increasingly vexed as they fought with the online app for ordering food. The third visit included miserable fish and chips served with mushy peas which resembled soup. In the good old days you might reasonably have expected to see the locals dragging the landlord off to the village stocks for less. Endless patience and plenty of Great British Stoicism required before planning a visit.

Just come home from a fantastic Christmas lunch. John and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly and made sure our Christmas day was special. Lovely little touches such as crackers and a selection box. It's the first time we've eaten out on Christmas day and it won't be the last. Even our dog enjoyed herself! See you again soon!
