This was such a lovely meal at a lovely restaurant. All of the dishes were interesting, nicely balanced and a good portion size. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was really relaxed. You can see how they’ve had a Michelin star for years!

We did the tasting Menu. Some of which was quite nice, some not. Appreciate that some of it was new. You would usually expect a bit more insight from staff with the tasting menu. Too much time was given between courses. Seated at 6.30pm we were still waiting for the last course at 10/10.30pm.

Fabulous food. Some excellent taste combinations. The little pallete cleanser, scallop dish and quail were delicious. I did thnk the background music was too loud. I won't forget the meal. It's always good to serve some bread with the main.

Title: A Truly Unforgettable Experience – Bulrush UK is World-Class As an American visiting from Cincinnati, Ohio, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bulrush UK in Bristol with my girlfriend, who’s a local. We were both experiencing it for the first time and opted for the full tasting menu with wine pairings—and it turned out to be the best meal of my life. From the very first bites, we were drawn in. Each dish was thoughtful, creative, and beautifully presented. The early bites were a perfect introduction, packed with flavor and originality. Two standouts for us were the Wagyu beef, which my girlfriend especially loved, and the Ratafia Champagne, which absolutely blew me away. Just to clarify—it wasn’t paired with the Wagyu, but was served earlier in the menu, and it left a strong impression. I’d never had Ratafia before, and now I’ll be chasing that flavor forever. This was also my first time experiencing Ozark-inspired cuisine, and it was eye-opening. The flavors were deeply rooted yet completely fresh. A particularly memorable moment was the cheese ice cream—unexpected, a bit playful, and absolutely delicious. It captured the spirit of the whole experience: bold, inventive, and expertly executed. The service was exceptional—warm, passionate, and deeply knowledgeable without a hint of pretension. You could feel the care and creativity behind every dish and pairing. Bulrush is now my number one restaurant—not just in the UK, but anywhere I’ve eaten. If you’re anywhere near Bristol, do not miss this culinary experience. This review was written a year after I ate there and it is the only place I have ever felt so compelled to write a review. Thank you to all the staff for such a memorable night . I hope to one day return to Bristol and see what new cuisine you have to offer

My Gosh, what an amazing experience! We loved every single dish they served. 10/10 experience. The team members are very informative and friendly. Would definitely come back! You need to book beforehand. I managed to get a seat D-1 before coming, so not too hard!

I really enjoyed my experience in this one star Michelin restaurant! The thing that made the difference is the service offered there. The staff is really professional and prepared to explain every dish in details, friendly and happy to help! I would have given one star less if it wasn't for them. I liked the dishes composition and presentation, not all the dishes were to my taste, but this is understandable as the flavours you find here are really different than the ones you are used to have in your daily routine. The only thing that I didn't really like was the position of my table, as it was really close to the door and really uncomfortable when people were entering or leaving the restaurant!!! There shouldn't be a table there at all! Other than that I found that the restaurant needed a bit more of cleaning to maintain the standards of a Michelin star restaurant! The bottles and jars around the restaurant were full of dust! I don't suggest to have the supplement as the truffle was tasteless! And doesn't fit the standards! Overall I would definitely recommend the experience!!!

It's going to be hard to sum up the experience we had last night. The Food was exceptional, service impeccable, and the drink pairing divine! Will be a long time before we forget the night we spent at Bulrush. If your thinking of booking allow upto four hours and enjoy!!

Incredible experience. I had the vegetarian menu while my husband had the meat/seafood. Every dish on both was heavenly. We lost track of how many we'd had half way through, they just kept coming. You won't walk out hungry. Allow yourself four hours for this, they don't rush it but pace it well. Had a lovely Australian waiter who knew the food and wine menu back to front and was a delight. Highly recommend this place! (forgot to take more than three pictures as it was so delicious...)
