First time at the Oval today for the kids swim…….the pool areas are okay but the changing rooms are horrendous for the following reasons: - The floors throughout the unisex changing rooms had a layer of muddy water sat on top, the flooring was broken and in need of repair. - The plaster on the walls was falling off. - 40% of the locker doors were broken or missing and were dirty. - The family changing area was filthy with muddy floors, dirty benches, cold and broken showers. The air con went was covered in a thick layer of dust surrounded by mould. - Broken ceiling tiles either hanging down or missing. We have come home searching for a different place to take the kids swimming solely on how poor a state the changing rooms were in. It’s in desperate need of a deep clean and refurbishment. I’ve used council facilities for many years and have never experienced such dirty and run down facilities.

Needs urgent attention from environmental health. I’ve swum in pools all over the country and have never seen changing facilities in such a shocking state of disrepair. It genuinely looks like proper cleaning has stopped altogether – at best, someone throws a bucket of water around at the end of the day. The smell is appalling, and there is visible mould, grime, and dust everywhere. Visiting with a baby makes the experience even worse. Parents are told to leave prams in the disabled toilet – which itself stank, as if the bin hadn’t been emptied in a week. There are barely any suitable surfaces for changing babies, and the mats provided all had broken straps and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Wirral Council may wish to consider refurbishing the changing rooms at some point, but in the meantime, you still have a legal and moral responsibility to keep them clean, safe, and hygienic for users.

Not very impressed when there were still two minutes left on the court and staff turned up and started to take the net down for the next set of people without even asking if were done. Moreover, the people started to place their items on the bench we had our belongings on and began dribbling their basketballs. Also not too sure what’s the point to book on a specific numbered court, when it is the second time we turned up, the court we booked for was not set up so we had to use a different one. Because of this, we started later than expected despite arriving earlier, further reducing the time we got to play. This is incredibly disappointing since the booking prices aren’t cheap either. Although we have received an apology with very little substance, no compensation has been made.

Both pools are fine and nice to see a few things for children to play with in small pool. The changing rooms however are the worst I’ve ever seen. Flooring breaking up so lots of lying water everywhere. Floor looked dirty too Impossible to get children dry without standing them on bench in cubicles. Can’t be cleaned properly due to everywhere being in such a state of disrepair basins and taps in toilets also disgusting How has it been allowed to get into this state??

Good gym with lots of equipment. Suitable for all types of workouts. The pool is also good, but can get a little busy at times. Otherwise, the invigor8 membership options are great and cheaper to other gyms I've found. They are open every day and also have many activity classes to join in with. Would definitely recommend.

The facilities eg. gym, studios and pool are very good. What lets this place down is the state of pool changing rooms. The floor is wet and muddy from footprints as it is like a huge wet room and the water doesnt drain away. Half the lockers either have no doors or locks that don't work. In need of urgent refurbishment!

Love this pool and the facilities. My children attend swimming lessons twice a week. (Swim Wirral is a different story!) The pool is always comfortably warm. You can always find a locker and a changing room. Enough showers available. If the changing room is ever messy, the lifeguards and staff are always happy to take action.

I attend this pool regularly, the water is slightly warmer than other swimming pools. I love the Olympic sized pool as does my Granddaughter. Friendly staff too.
